vos tricíclicos, meprobamato, benzodiazepínicos, barbitúricos, clonidina, sulfato ferroso e 
inibidores da monoaminoxidase (IMAOs). 
A prescrição na clínica geriátrica deve levar em conta, com especial aten-
çao: 
1. Prescrever terapia com eficácia e formalmente indicada; 
2. Iniciar com doses menores e aumento lento e gradual de doses, se necessá-
• rio· 
' 3. Usar de esquemas posológicos simples; 
4. Evitar polifarmácia; 
5. Instruir o uso auxiliando o processo mnemônico para manter adesão; 
6. Evitar interações farmacológicas; 
7. Reajustar doses de acordo com a função renal; 
8. Monitorar níveis plasmáticos e efeitos adversos, principalmente sobre o 
SNC· 
' 9. Verificar iatrogenias.
