Summary
FactoryTalk View SE: Clients slow to load and
see changes from the HMI server
Problem
Clients are still pointing to the directory server,
and are able to ping all servers by name (and
vice versa), but will freeze on displays and not
receive data, or take an hour to open. This is
true even after relaunching the client,
rebooting, or clearing the cache.
Some clients may be working properly with no
lagging. A client running on the server will act
as expected.
May also see an error that the .bmp image files
are missing from the server, despite other
clients being able to see the images without
any issue.
Cause
Proxy is blocking communications
Solution
1. Open the command prompt
2. Check to see if there is a proxy by running
the command netsh winhttp show proxy
3. If the command returns with a value, the
easiest solution is to turn off the proxy
using the command netsh winhttp Reset
proxy
4. it is not necessary to reboot the computer
after this command
