Read the text and select the correct answer to the questions.</p><p>The climate of the United States varies a lot due to the position of its states when it comes to latitude as well as to the range of geographic</p><p>features the country has. Generally speaking, the western and southern parts of the USA have warmer weather if compared to eastern and</p><p>northern areas. The eastern/northern regions experience harsh winters with heavy snowfall but summers are pleasant; on the other hand, the</p><p>western/southern parts have extremely hot summers and, compared to the eastern/ northern regions, tolerable winters. Some weather conditions</p><p>such as cyclones and fronts are more common in the colder months than in the warmer months in the United States. Extreme weather is not</p><p>uncommon - tornadoes occur in the area of the Midwest known as Tornado Alley with some regularity, whereas heavy snowstorms can hit</p><p>northern areas and tropical cyclones can strike the south. It is a fact that the United States has more tornadoes than the rest of the countries of</p><p>the world combined.
