Message
A Message to the Students
In Flux means “in constant change”. And that is what the inFlux course is about. It is about
providing you with a diff erent environment in every class you attend. There will be fascinating
topics and a wide range of activities, which will keep you interested and motivated during the
whole course.
inFlux brings real life communication into the classroom by combining two of the most modern
approaches to English language teaching: the Communicative Approach and the Lexical
Approach. Therefore, the course focuses on:
- Listening, understanding other people’s ideas, and speaking. These are the most useful skills in
person-to-person communication. However, all skills, including reading, writing and grammar,
are properly balanced during the course, so that at the end of it you will have mastered the
English language;
- Fast-paced, dynamic classes with activities based on comparison and equivalence between
English and Portuguese;
- Conversation activities that use language which you will most likely encounter outside the
classroom.
The inFlux course comprises fi ve books and access to the Audiobook app:
Book 1 – Basic Level
Book 2 – Lower Intermediate Level
Book 3 – Intermediate Level
Book 4 – Upper Intermediate Level
Book 5 – Advanced Level
The following symbols are found throughout the books:
The symbol marks the sections that are available on the Audiobook app.
The symbol KEY marks the sections that will be used during the conversation drills in class.
inFlux will develop in you an active, rather than a passive, command of English. And on
completion of this five-level course you will have achieved an advanced competence in
the language.

The four skills of listening, speaking,
reading, and writing, as well as grammar

during the course. Special attention is
paid to listening and speaking, so that, at
the end of the course, students will have
achieved an active, rather than a passive,
command of English.
The inFlux course comprises fi ve books

O curso inFlux compreende cinco livros e

Abordagem Lexical. Portanto, o curso dá ênfase a:
- Ouvir, entender ideias de outras pessoas, e falar. Estas são as habilidades mais úteis na
comunicação entre pessoas. No entanto, todas as habilidades, incluindo ler, escrever e
você terá dominado a língua inglesa;
equivalências entre inglês e português;
