The technical integration of the logistics, accounting, and information flow features is one of our greatest benefits. It eliminates a lot of duplication of effort. It also helps ensure information flows to the correct place at the correct time. Integration of application data Each time an application module changes, the R/3 System automatically updates the data in the other application modules that are affected. The data entered is updated in the database used by the applications. All application modules have the same architecture and user interface. Interactive processing The R/3 System interactively processes the user’s input and checks it to ensure that the data is consistent. Integration of Several Languages in Real Time Several users can work in an application using different languages because the R/3 System updates the data that was entered in different languages at runtime. The R/3 System is delivered in most languages, including Kanji and Mandarin. Data is available to anyone who needs it, anywhere, anytime. Processes can be done concurrently, rather than consecutively. This reduces process time. Data moves across business applications, avoiding duplication of effort and minimizing missing or erroneous data. The country program is used in the first R/3 project undertaken by any local unit. You run the country program in Client 001 of the R/3 System as delivered. Country programs create a country-specific Customizing environment using standard Customizing functionality. Country programs implement (examples): Country instantiations of the OrgUnits in Client 001 Charts of accounts Set-up of payment programs House banks Tax calculation schemas, tax rates, and withholding taxes Automatic posting Balance sheet and P/L outline Depreciation chart, depreciation areas, and depreciation parameters Calendars Forms (example: payment forms) Controlling areas Cost elements Profit center sets for balance sheet and P/L Note: All company codes assigned to the same controlling area must use the same chart of accounts.
