It is recommended that you reduce the number of shades with your favorite
graphics software (Photoshop, Fireworks etc…)
Employing error diffusion for half-toning gives the best results.
Pattern half toning may give you stripe-like artifacts when displayed on LCD.
(it's nothing wrong with your display nor the software -this is normal behavior)
If you don't pre-process your images, they will be converted to grayscale
number of shades is reduced linearly with no diffusion/half toning.
This allows you to get results according to your preference.
