WEIGHT: Homework #1 worth 1.0 % and Quiz#1 worth 1.5% of your grade. 
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS, REMINDERS, LOGISTICS: 
OFFICE HRS.: Monday - Thursday 11:20-12:20 PM 
 Friday (unless other meetings overlap) 11:30-12:20 PM (send e-mail or call before to confirm) 
 Each homework-quiz combinations will each be worth approximately 2.5% of the grade 
 Quizzes will consist of randomly selected, modified versions of the homework problems. 
 Solutions to homeworks will be made available via e-mail 1-2 days prior to the Quiz (remind me if you 
don’t receive something by 3:00 PM the day before, send reminder to: sergioc@utep.edu ) 
 Homework papers may or may not be collected but they will be checked off (pass/fail grading). In any 
case, you will be allowed to use your own homework paper (in your own handwriting) during the Quizzes! 
 Quizzes will be closed book and will not require the use of calculators so they are not allowed.
