1 Class no. 1 and class no. 2 In both class no. 1 and class no. 2 we talked about the teacher’s role in developing the learners’ autonomy. S/he is the person who should help them to learn constructively, that is, s/he should guide them through meaningful experiences. We also saw that s/he should pose them questions in order to develop their thought processes. By doing this, the teacher will help his/her students to become reflective and critical of their own learning. We concluded the lesson by saying that for the interactive construction of knowledge to occur in the process of teaching and learning, the teacher must be able to help his/her students to improve their skills and abilities. By giving them freedom to investigate issues, apply and test their ideas and also by giving them support, providing information and probing questions, the teacher will be allowing students to be in charge of their own learning.
