PRESENT CONTINUOUS OR PRESENT PROGRESSIVE
Essa estrutura é utilizada: a) quando uma ação estiver acontecendo neste momento (agora); b) uma ação temporária e c) futuro planejado. Veja a tabela abaixo:

NOTE: alguns verbos não são usados no ING. Veja:
She dislikes that boy.                                         NOT She is disliking that boy.
Jack prefers going out for dinner tonight.      NOT Jack is preferring going out for dinner tonight.
I recognize you!                                                      NOT I'm recognizing you!
You astonish me! 
I'm afraid I disagree with you.
