Conditional zero. Veja como é formada: If clause: If + subject (sujeito) + simple present verb (verbo no presente simples) Main clause: subject + simple present verb Vamos ver alguns exemplos: Phosforus burns if you expose it to air. If you heat water at 100 degrees, it boils. Veja o exemplo: If you study more, you will pass the exam. You will pass the exam if you study more. If you cook the lunch, I’ll do the dishes. Observe a maneira pela qual a estrutura é formada: Simple present + future Will Também é bastante comum o uso de unlessque significa “if... not”. He Will arrive late unless he hurries up. Unless he hurries up, he will arrive late. Unless Peter improves his work, he’ll fail the exam. If Peter doesn’t improve his work he will fail the exam. I’d lend Peter the money if he needed it. Note: O verbo “to be” sempre será conjudago como “were”. Exemplo: If I were you, I would go there. Structure: One clause in the simple past tense and the other in the conditional would. Let’s see some other examples: I would buy that house if I had more Money. If he studied more, he would pass the exam. If I had more free time, I would go to the beach this week. Terceiro Condicional – Third Conditional It’s used in situations in the past that did not happen. It’s a hypothetical situation. It’s usually used to express critics or regret. Take a look at the examples: If he had known that, he would have decided differently. Jane would have found a new job if she had stayed in Boston. Observe a construção da estrutura: If Clause: If + subject + past perfect tense Main Clause: subject + would (could or might) have + past participle Agora vamos aos exercícios!!
