Silveira Martins Lesson Plan # 5 Date: October 6th, 2016. Theme: Bullying (Games of Thrones) Objectives: To foster self-awareness, through the Theme of class "Bullying"; To promote discuss in class about the theme and the critical thinking; To encourage work in group; To work in class to listening and writing. Procedures: Warm up: (20 min) The teacher will begin doing a review about the last class (about group work and the Walking Dead), past, and she will a dialogue and the students will listen and complete them; The teacher will play the audio file so that the students listen and put (phrases from the dialogue) in order From last class, the students will have many objects to choose and assemble a survival kit (in groups). After, the teacher will organize the class in a circle, and she will ask the students for and she will begin the discussion saying “Why you to objects to survive?”. Why did you choose these objects to survive? After, the teacher will explainnation the second part of the class and begin the theme of “is Bullying” through the Game of the Thrones; Next, the teacher will invite the students to will try to put together names and pictures of the main characters, and then the teacher will verify if they are correct or not; Development: (50 min) The teacher’s assistant hand out to each student the students’ one dialogue between Tyrion Lannister and hiser father (Twyn Lannister). Next, the teacher will read with them (See appendix 2). The students will mark in the dialogue the causes (words) of supposed bullying suffered by Tyron; The teacher will begin the discussion with students and in -groups so that the studenttos them will give their opinions (in Portuguese). Nextxt, the students will organized in groups of five and the teacher assistant will hand out copies of the with exercise (See appendix 3); ThenNext, the teacher will explain the activity to the students, and they will mark important words and rewrite in the text boxes individually..should and mark important words and transcribe them into text's boxes; Eles vão marcar as palavras e transcrever nas caixinhas The teacher will ask each the students, “Why did you choose those words?”because chose the words; After, she will talk about bullying. After, the teacher will organize the students again in groups of three and will give different words in Portuguese and English. These words come from the text and are all associated to the definition of bullying. They will have 5 minutes to try to put together in the words in Portuguese and English (See appendix 4). Wrap up: (30 min) The end, the students will remain ina groups, now the teacher assistant hand out copies of the worksheet (see Appendix 5) for them. They will use the same words from the last activity and they will create a campaign, "10 words you should know caused by bullying."
