The king of Reggae Show time 3: the last one Robert Nesta “Bob” Marley was born in February 6, 1945 on a farm of his maternal grandfather in Nine Mile, Saint Ann Parish, Jamaica. Parents: Cedella Broker (mother) and Norval Marley (father). Bob Marley was a singer, songwriter and guitarist who had a band “the wailers”. Their songs were about political issues, love, peace and claimed for equal rights for black people. After being famous for his songs and with his band “The Wailers” which, after some time was separated and Bob created another band “Bob Marley and the wailers” (1974 – 1981) after two members of the wailers ( Bunny Wailer and Peter Tosh) decided to do a solo career. Bob was famous in Jamaica, USA and all over the world but one thing appeared to disturb his career and his life. In one of his shows in United States, Bob had a health issue and he needed to be served. Bob was diagnosed with a malignant melanoma under the tail of his toe, this disease was caused by an already-existing cancer. The doctors said he needed to have his toe amputated but he did not agree since his religion did not allow. The moment I discovered Bob Marley songs I realized that that was the kind of music I had been looking for. His songs changed my mind because of messages in his songs about peace, love, social issues, It made me think in all dark side of humanity but at the same time he showed us that there are those who care about each other.
