Things No One Will Tell You That You Can Do – But We Will

There’s a handful of “magic moments” that happen daily throughout Walt Disney World -- you
just have to know what and where they are!

1. Throw out the first pitch at Casey’s Corner at the Magic Kingdom: They usually choose 2 or
3 kids to throw out the “first pitch” and they get a free brownie too! Arrive just before they
open, and you might get picked!

2. Pull the sword from the stone at the Magic Kingdom: This happens throughout the day in
front of Prince Charming’s Regal Carrousel. It’s searchable in My Disney Experience under
“Royal Majesty Makers” and the child who is successful is the “Hero of Fantasyland” for the
day.

3. Become Junior Mayor of the Magic Kingdom: Book an Advance Dining Reservation at The
Plaza Restaurant for around 11:00AM and the Fire Chief or City Councilman will come in and
select a child to be the Junior Mayor.

4. Dance with your favorite Frontierland character: During the Frontierland Hoedown
Happening you can dance with Country Bear Jamboree characters and more!

5. Get a free celebration button: Pick up your free Celebration Button for birthdays, weddings,
anniversaries, and more! The easiest place to get one is at your resort hotel – just tell the cast
member that you’d like a Celebration Button. And make sure you wear them – especially for
birthdays as you might get a special sweet treat from cast members.

6. Get pixie dusted: Kids and adults can get pixie dusted in the Magic Kingdom! Head to the
Castle Couture in the park and ask a cast member to pixie dust you. Be ready to have glitter
EVERYWHERE.

7. Perform with the Citizens of Hollywood: If you want a chance to perform with the Citizens of
Hollywood at Hollywood Studios be sure to grab a spot right in front when you see them setting
up shop on Hollywood Boulevard to Sunset Boulevard!

8. Meet ALL the characters at once: Look for the Character Palooza, which happens most days
at Hollywood Studios between 4PM and 7PM near the Tower of Terror. Meanwhile in Epcot you
might find a large group of characters near the American Adventure!

9. Ride the Main Street U.S.A. transportation: If you arrive early enough at the Magic Kingdom
you might be able to hop on one of the transportation vehicles that travel up and down Main
Street U.S.A. until it gets too crowded. Look for a fire engine, Jitney, and horse drawn carriage.

10. Take part in the Flag Retreat Ceremony: The flag on the flagpole at the center of Main
Street is lowered each day around 5PM during a short ceremony with the Dapper Dans and
Main Street Philharmonic. A child is selected each day to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and a
veteran is selected to carry the flag down Main Street.

11. Become a Jedi: The Jedi Training Academy takes place every day adjacent to Star Tours. This
20-minute show is for kids age 4-12 and is FREE! Sign up at the Indiana Jones Adventure
Outpost as soon as the park opens (spaces fill up fast).

12. Be chosen as Grand Marshal for the Festival of Fantasy Parade: Each day a family or group
is chosen as the Grand Marshals for the Festival of Fantasy Parade at the Magic Kingdom.
Guests are chosen at random but to increase your chances head to where the parade starts
near Splash Mountain about 30-45 minutes prior to the parade. Tip: wear colorful, matching
clothes and have a lot of energy!

13. Be part of the show: You can wake up Jose in The Enchanted Tiki Room at the Magic
Kingdom or get on stage during The Festival of The Lion King at the Animal Kingdom. Cast
members will select guests for each experience.

14. Learn to Irish dance at Raglan Road: Kids dining at Raglan Road have a chance to get up on
stage and learn to dance! When booking your reservation for dinner ask to be seated near the
stage.

15. Have a totally free Resort Day: Resort day fun includes hula lessons or lei making at the
Polynesian, cookie decorating at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, meeting cultural representatives
at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

16. Campfires and movies at the resort hotels: The movies under the stars is one of the BEST
freebies at Disney World. Every resort has a different schedule of movies so make sure to check
the monthly activity sheet when you check in. Some resorts also have campfires (Wilderness
Lodge, Fort Wilderness, Grand Floridian) with marshmallows for roasting!
