RIO DE JANEIRO - RJ 2021 UNIVERSIDADE VEIGA DE ALMEIDA LETRAS – PORTUGUÊS E INGLÊS ISABELLE CORDEIRO PEDROSA Morfossintaxe e o Ensino da Língua Inglesa RIO DE JANEIRO - RJ 2021 1 ISABELLE CORDEIRO PEDROSA Morfossintaxe e o Ensino da Língua Inglesa Trabalho apresentado no curso de Português e Inglês na Universidade Veiga de Almeida. Disciplina: Morfossintaxe e o ensino da língua inglesa. Professora: Leice Daiane de Araujo Polo: Tijuca - RJ RIO DE JANEIRO - RJ 2021 2 We live in a prejudiced society, not only in Brazil, but in all corners of the world; countries, states and continents. Society has become accustomed to living according to a pattern that has been imposed, used for food, clothing, hair, physical forms and especially speech. The deconstruction of a person has been more addressed through social networks, however, we know that it takes time. Gradually, every difference we have is gaining visibility and appreciation, even if it is in the small details; respect has been gaining space replacing the role of denial. In addition to family life as a major learning reference, we have life within the school being an extremely important role; almost indispensable. A class with many students, different divergent worlds within each student is a great gift that we receive to work on differences and respect for others. One of the many prejudices in which we live is due to the way of speech, several states in Brazil have great diversity, one that stands out is the accent, dialect and slang. We have the "Oxe" originated from Bahia, "Uai" from Minas Gerais, the emphasis of the paulistano on the letter "R" or also to the famous "Bah" and "Chê" of the residents of the South; in addition to several others, such as that of the indigenous people. As a great nation that we are, the diverse accents of Brazilians show the cultural wealth and the great diversity that exists in all regions of Brazil. Thus, in addition to other factors, the beauty of the language shows the country's cultural wealth. This does not escape the same line when it comes to English, many Americans believe that non-native speakers with their variations and accents spoil the correct English, but it is important to mention that there is no proof and it is common for speech differences to occur, which in the end only adds value and diversity. RIO DE JANEIRO - RJ 2021 3 In the classroom it is necessary to approach the subject and mainly to exercise the students' minds for reflection. Promoting debates, games and research are indispensable to get into the subject effectively and to be exercised throughout the life of everyone. The topic to be addressed will be about language and society, taking advantage of the atmosphere of conversation in class. When investigating the student for the subject using research texts, discuss some questions that promote reflection. Example: 1. English is the third most spoken language in the world. Which are the first two? 2. How important is it to speak another language? 3. What are linguistic variations? 4. What is culture shock? 5. Conversation and reflection on language and the ELF concept. 6. The importance of English as a lingua franca. 7. Dialogue about each student's interaction with the language and their experiences. The objective of this work will be the knowledge about the language and daily activities, thus, the skills worked will be those of research, distinguishing variations, respecting cultural differences, conversation and reading. Students need to use their daily experiences, even if they are minimal, after all all are important; from music, movies, series and TV. Encouraging the student to look for videos about the language or watch content entirely in English is already a big step. Gradually we immerse ourselves in a more comprehensive and interesting content, but at the beginning a simpler approach is necessary, so that the student does not feel out of place or incapacitated. RIO DE JANEIRO - RJ 2021 4 As Jean Piaget (1940) would say "The ideal of education is not to learn as much as possible, to maximize results, but it is first of all to learn to learn, it is to learn to develop and learn to continue to develop after school."
