Possessive nounsPossessive nouns Now, we are going to talk about possessive nouns. We have seen possessive pronouns: my your his her its our your their You know that a noun names something. . This is my book. You can say, That is Molly’s book. Molly is a noun and book is a noun. You can say Molly’s book. Notice that the ‘s shows possession. Before, we saw ‘s to mean “is”. It does NOT mean that here. Also, the noun can be singular or plural.The possessive noun does not change. Molly’s student Molly’s students Here is a new question: Whose _______ is this?
