When love and business come together

The fantastic romantic world of Jane Austen again makes its way to the silver screen in
Joe Wright's new adaptation of the classic novel Pride and Prejudice. It is the first
feature film to be adapted from it in 65 years The movie was based on Jane Austen's
1813 classic Pride & Prejudice. Is a romantic costume drama that takes place in 19th
century England. The story is about the Bennet family, a father, mother and five or six
daughters. The only way to secure the future of the children is to marry a party that
owns a lot of money. Jane, the oldest sister, is beautiful but a little icy. She hopes to
marry young Bingley, a rich aristocrat who just moved to a castle nearby. Her younger
sister Elizabeth, the main character of the movie, wants to help her conquer his heart,
but finds out that Bingley's best friend, the rich but arrogant mister Darcy, sabotages her
plans. Elizabeth and Darcy start out as enemies, but as the story progresses they both
find out that their opinions of each other are based on wrong information, pride and
prejudice.

The film was directed by Joe Wright who demonstrates his ability to rebuild their times
in England with a rich wardrobe, production design and scenery, as if everything were a
time travel until the 19th century. It's a quiet film, the pace is pleasantly calm and the
director is more concerned with making the audience appreciate what he sees than
necessarily speeding up the pace and losing most of the details present in the
compositions. However, it is not a film free of more tense or energetic moments.
Discussions between characters are important and develop who is on stage. The most
agile scenes are, for example, the scenes at dances and parties with a popular and
cheerful song or some mundane sequences with a more hectic song.
In terms of thematic wealth, it is one of the most diverse novels we can find. The
satirical and ironic remarks filled with humor from England's rural and noble society are
delightfully realistic, however ridiculous they may be. The film criticizes the behavior
of women dependent and desperate for marriage, the false romanticism of that time, the
arrogant nature of public figures and the free and dreamy female spirit that is not always
the best to adopt. With this, a perfect definition of the consequences of excessive pride
and pre-made ideas, conceived by third parties, is developed, which later lead us to
judge someone. Judgments of values and character are natural attitudes of the human
being, as Jane Austen makes a point of pointing out. Intentionally alerting her audience,
she highlights the important thing here – realizing the dangers of this same
characteristic so common in people of any social class, both today and in the rest of
history.
It is a fascinating story that manages simultaneously to criticize the immoral and
pretentious behavior of the riches class, while developing a beautiful affective
relationship with an enthralling sentimentality and romanticism so characteristic of the
English classical literature. Beutiful and sensible dialogues, unpredictable conflicts,
well-built characters, a very committed cast, the photograph, the art direction, all of
these characteristics makes this movie and wonderful experience to movie fans.
