O que é Meiose?
Meiose é o processo em que uma célula-mãe origina quatro células-�lhas,
contudo, cada uma dessas 4 �lhas possuem apenas metade dos cromossomos
existentes na mãe. Ou seja, meiose é quando uma célula 2n se divide em 4 células
n.   
As células humanas possuem 46 cromossomos (os gametas por exemplo). Sendo
assim, quando as células humanas sofrem meiose, elas geram 4 células com
23 cromossomos.

Quais são as Etapas da Meiose? 
Fases da Meiose
As etapas “macro” da meiose são duas: 
Meiose I: Também chamada de etapa reducional, o número de cromossomos
da célula é reduzido pela metade.
Meiose II: Denominada etapa equacional, o número de cromossomos das
células formadas na meiose I permanece o mesmo na nova divisão.

Contudo, dentro dessas duas etapas existem várias etapas “micro” que serão
abordadas a partir de agora: 
Meiose I
Prófase I
Essa etapa da Meiose I ainda pode ser subdividida em 5 fases:  
Leptóteno: Nesta etapa, pequenas condensações chamadas cromômeros
começam a surgir nas cromátides dos cromossomos;
Zigóteno: cromossomos homólogos são emparelhados – esse processo é
denominado sinapse;
Paquíteno: as quatro cromátides de cada par de cromossomos podem se
romper, alterando suas posições. Nesse momento acontece a recombinação
gênica.
Diplóteno: os cromossomos se distanciam, mas permanecem conectados
pelos locais onde houve a recombinação. Essas regiões são chamadas de
quiasmas;
Diacinese: os cromossomos permanecem em processo de condensação e
separação e os quiasmas seguem para os extremos das cromátides. Isso é a
terminação dos quiasmas. Por �m, o nucléolo e a carioteca desaparecem.
Metáfase I
Nesta etapa, a carioteca (membrana que envolve o núcleo da célula) desaparece.
Os pares de cromossomos se alinham no centro da célula e os centrômeros se
conectam às     �bras de fuso que aparecem nessa etapa. 
Anáfase I
Nesta fase, os centrômeros permanecem unidos e cada cromátide segue para
um dos pólos da célula.
Telófase I
A partir daqui, os cromossomos passam pela desespiralização e pelo rearranjo,
voltando aos pares de cromátides. Ainda nessa fase, o núcleo se reorganiza e o

Meiose II
Prófase II
Nesta fase, os cromossomos são condensados e os centríolos se duplicam.
Posteriormente, o nucléolo e a carioteca (membrana nuclear) tornam a
desaparecer.
Metáfase II
Na metáfase II, os cromossomos se alinham no centro da célula juntamente às
�bras de fuso.
Anáfase II
Nesta etapa, as cromátides são separadas e, por meio das �bras de fuso,
seguem para cada um dos extremos da célula
Telófase II
Na telófase II, as �bras somem e os cromossomos permanecem nos pólos da
célula. Posteriormente, a carioteca reaparece e o nucléolo é reorganizado. Por �m,
a célula é dividida novamente. Ao �nal da meiose, surgem quatro células-�lhas
haplóides.
