Neste exercíco, será calculado o seguinte limite:
\(\Longrightarrow \lim_{x \to 3} { x^4 - 81 \over 2x^2 - 5x - 3}\)
O denominador está no formato para a Fórmula de Bhaskara, com \(a=2\), \(b=-5\) e \(c=-3\). Portanto, os zeros do denominador são:
\(\Longrightarrow x = {-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} \over 2a}\)
\(\Longrightarrow x = {-(-5) \pm \sqrt{(-5)^2-4\cdot2 \cdot (-3)} \over 2 \cdot 2}\)
\(\Longrightarrow x = {5 \pm \sqrt{25- (-24)} \over 4}\)
\(\Longrightarrow x = {5 \pm \sqrt{49} \over 4}\)
\(\Longrightarrow x = {5 \pm 7 \over 4}\) \(\to \left \{ \begin{matrix} x_1 = 3 \\ x_2 = -0,5 \end{matrix} \right.\)
Com isso, o limite pode ser escrito da seguinte forma:
\(\Longrightarrow \lim_{x \to 3} { x^4 - 81 \over 2x^2 - 5x - 3} = \lim_{x \to 3} { x^4 - 81 \over a(x-x_1)(x-x_2)}\)
\(= \lim_{x \to 3} { x^4 - 81 \over 2(x-3)(x+0,5)}\)
Manipulando o numerador, o limite resultante é:
\(\Longrightarrow \lim_{x \to 3} { x^4 - 81 \over 2x^2 - 5x - 3} = \lim_{x \to 3} { (x^2)^2 - 9^2 \over 2(x-3)(x+0,5)}\)
\(= \lim_{x \to 3} { (x^2 - 9)(x^2 + 9) \over 2(x-3)(x+0,5)}\)
\(= \lim_{x \to 3} { (x - 3)(x+3)(x^2 + 9) \over 2(x-3)(x+0,5)}\)
\(= \lim_{x \to 3} { (x+3)(x^2 + 9) \over 2(x+0,5)}\)
Substituindo o valor do limite, o resultado é:
\(\Longrightarrow \lim_{x \to 3} { x^4 - 81 \over 2x^2 - 5x - 3} = \lim_{x \to 3} { (x+3)(x^2 + 9) \over 2(x+0,5)}\)
\(= { (3+3)(3^2 + 9) \over 2(3+0,5)}\)
\(= { (6)(18) \over 2(3,5)}\)
\(\Longrightarrow \fbox {$ \lim_{x \to 3} { x^4 - 81 \over 2x^2 - 5x - 3} ={108 \over 7} $}\)
