What are the adverse effects and precautions of Diazepam in veterinary medicine?
Complications of venous thrombosis and phlebitis can occur at the injection site. Chemically, Diazepam is incompatible with most other immobilizing agents. Diazepam is contraindicated in patients with possible glaucoma. The oral route is not recommended for immobilization. There may be pain caused by IM injection and a temporary inflammatory reaction may develop.
