What are the indications for muscle relaxants in veterinary medicine?
They can be used to facilitate endotracheal intubation during anesthesia, in endoscopy, and in orthopedic surgeries for bone fractures; they facilitate breathing and in the case of horses, decrease movement during induction. They allow the use of lower doses of anesthetics. However, they should only be used when there are adequate operating conditions, and only in anesthetized animals.
