BGP	-	PATH	SELECTION
1	-	Prefer	the	highest	Cisco
weight	(local	to	router).
Ex:	R5	preferencia	via	R4	para	todas	rotas
inbound.	R6	recebendo	2	caminhos.
2-	Prefer	the	highest	local
preference	(local	to	AS).
Ex:	R2	primary	para	AS256
Todas	as	rotas	como	best
3-	Prefer	the	routes	that	the
router	originated	locally.Ex:	Network	statement
4-	Prefer	the	shortest	AS	paths
(only	the	length	is	compared).
EX:	AS_PATH	Prepend	outbound	R2	para	R7
escolher	AS	3	como	primary	para	AS	256
5-	Prefer	the	lowest	origin	code
(IGP-i	before	EGP-e	before
Incomplete-?).
6-	Prefer	the	lowest	MED.
Always	compare	MED
Compara	a	metric	(MED)	mesmo	que	o
prefixo	seja	recebido	por	diferentes	AS.	
Ex:	Mesmo	prefixo,	com	empate	no	path
atributes	vindo	pelo	AS	3	e	AS	5	na
perspectiva	de	R4	com	MED	diferente
Deterministic	MED
Altera	a	forma	que	o	BGP	faz	comparação
de	rotas	na	tabela.	Ao	invés	do	BGP
comparar	a	rota	mais	recente	com	a
próxima	em	pares,	o	BGP	vai	agrupar	todas
as	rotas	de	um	mesmo	AS	e	escolher	o	best
path	entre	elas,	o	best	path	escolhido	é
comparado	com	o	best	path	do	próximo
grupo.	As	rotas	vindo	do	mesmo	AS	podem
usar	o	MED	para	desempatar,	já	quando
selecionadas	no	seu	grupo	de	AS,	o	MED
não	será	um	atributo	usado	para	comparar
as	rotas	no	próximo	passo	vindo	de	AS
diferentes.
7-	Prefer	external	(eBGP)	paths
over	internal	(iBGP)	paths
8-	If	route	reflectors	are
configured
9-	Prefer	the	path	from	the
router	with	the	lowest	BGP
router-ID.
10-	Prefer	the	path	from	the
lowest	neighbor	interface

1.	7-	Prefer	external	(eBGP)	paths	over	internal	(iBGP)
paths
1.1.	>>	For	eBGP	paths,	prefer	the	oldest	(most	stable)	path.	>>	For
iBGP	paths,	prefer	the	path	through	the	closest	IGP	neighbor	(lowest
IGP	metric).
2.	8-	If	route	reflectors	are	configured
2.1.	>>	With	multiple	iBGP	routes,	non-reflected	routes	are	preferred
above	reflected	routes.	>>	Then	reflected	routes	with	a	shorter
cluster-list	are	preferred	above	routes	with	a	longer	cluster-list.
3.	9-	Prefer	the	path	from	the	router	with	the	lowest	BGP
router-ID.
4.	10-	Prefer	the	path	from	the	lowest	neighbor	interface
address.
5.	TIP:	ebgp	compares	the	the	age	time	as	the	tie	break
ibgp	compares	router	id	as	the	tie	breaker	bgp	best	path

6.1.	Always	compare	MED
6.1.1.	Compara	a	metric	(MED)	mesmo	que	o	prefixo	seja	recebido
por	diferentes	AS.	Ex:	Mesmo	prefixo,	com	empate	no	path
atributes	vindo	pelo	AS	3	e	AS	5	na	perspectiva	de	R4	com	MED
diferente
6.2.	Deterministic	MED
6.2.1.	Altera	a	forma	que	o	BGP	faz	comparação	de	rotas	na	tabela.
Ao	invés	do	BGP	comparar	a	rota	mais	recente	com	a	próxima	em
pares,	o	BGP	vai	agrupar	todas	as	rotas	de	um	mesmo	AS	e
escolher	o	best	path	entre	elas,	o	best	path	escolhido	é	comparado
com	o	best	path	do	próximo	grupo.	As	rotas	vindo	do	mesmo	AS
podem	usar	o	MED	para	desempatar,	já	quando	selecionadas	no
seu	grupo	de	AS,	o	MED	não	será	um	atributo	usado	para	comparar
as	rotas	no	próximo	passo	vindo	de	AS	diferentes.
