COUNTABLE AND UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS Much x many Much e many são quantifiers (quantificadores). Much significa muito ou muita e many significa muitos ou muitas. Quantificadores são palavras utilizadas para fazer referência à quantidade de algo. Para sabermos quando usar many e much, precisamos verificar se o substantivo ao qual o quantificador se refere é countable (contável) ou uncountable (incontável). Isso porque many é usado com contáveis e much, com incontáveis. MUCH UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS MANY COUNTABLE NOUNS Countable nouns São contabilizados e têm forma plural; É possível indicar quantidades através de um numeral; Ex: She has two dogs. There are three TVs in my house. He ate ten strawberries at dessert. Uncountable nouns Os uncountable nouns (substantivos incontáveis) não podem ser contabilizados através de números e, regra geral, são apenas usados no singular. Ex: electricity, rice, water, luggage. She needs a piece of advice regarding her job. (Ela precisa de um conselho em relação ao trabalho dela.) We had a lot of fun at the party. / We had much fun at the party.
