THE EGYPTIAN GODS AND GODDESSES 
 
 
RA 
Sun God 
 
Appearance: A man with the head of a hawk wearing a sun disk on his 
head. 
 
He was the most important God 
 
 
 
 
OSIRIS 
 
Appearance: A mummified man who is wearing a white headdress with 
feathers 
 
Osiris was the god of the dead, and ruler of the Underworld 
 
 
 
 
ISIS 
Appearance: Woman with a throne on her head 
Isis was a protective goddess. She used powerful magic spells to help 
people in need. 
 
 
 
HORUS 
 
Appearance: Man with the head of a hawk 
 
Horus was a god of the sky. He is the protector of the king of Egypt. He 
was the son of Isis and Osiris. 
 
 
 
SETH 
Appearance: Man with the head of a 'Seth animal' (unidentifiable) 
Seth was the god of chaos and violence. Seth was the brother and the 
murderer of Osiris.

HATHOR 
Appearance: Woman with the ears of a cow, or with horns and a sun disk. 
Hathor was a protective goddess. She was also the goddess of love 
and joy. She was a symbol of motherhood and fertility. She protected 
women in childbirth too. 
 
 
 
ANUBIS 
 
Appearance: A Man with the head of a jackal 
 
Anubis was the god of embalming and the dead. 
 
 
 
 
 
THOT 
 
Appearance: A man with the head of an ibis holding a 
writing palette 
 
Thoth was the god of Knowledge and writing. He acted as 
scribe to the gods. 
 
 
 
AMON 
Appearance: Man with a ram-head or man wearing an ostrich plumed hat 
Amon was one of the most powerful gods in ancient Egypt. 
 
 
BASTET 
Appearance: Woman with the head of a cat 
Bastet was a protective goddess.
