About the author
Marko Čanad̄ija is professor of mechanics at the University of Rijeka, Faculty of
Engineering, Croatia. His research focuses on thermomechanical problems in solids
and structures. Recently, he has been working on such problems at the nanoscale, us-
ing machine learning techniques. In addition to this book, he is the author of two other
books, author of 70 scientific articles, is currently an academic editor of a journal, a
member of several editorial boards, and has organized three scientific conferences. He
is an associate member of the Croatian Academy of Engineering.
