ADE INSTALLATION PACKAGE
We have slightly changed the way that we deliver ADE versions and updates. In the past new major ver-
sions were delivered via a full installer and updates with a online patch. The online patch system meant
that each time there was a new major version there was a new installer. Users of older versions were
not told of updates and the online checking for patches was intrusive and sometimes inconvenient. The
patches used third party code that we no longer wanted to be reliant on.
We are now delivering a single installation package which can be used to install a separate new version
or update an existing one. This also means that in the future we will be able to offer an update to users
with older versions saving the effort of transferring settings and data from one version to another
The installer is delivered as an executable in a zip file which contains these notes and release informa-
tion. This installer does not make any entries in the registry and does not have, or require, an uninstal-
ler.
Whether you create a new installation or update an existing one depends only on where you set the des-
tination folder. Run the executable
Click Next
FULL If you are making a new clean installation then enter the folder for the installation in the
destination folder box. Be sure that this is not the path to an existing installation. You can enter a path
that does not already exist and the installer will create it.
UPDATE If you wish to update an existing version (1.75 or later) then use the Browse button to find the
main installation folder for the version you wish to update. Be sure that it is the main installation folder
for the version you wish to update.
Clicking Next will start off the installation. When it is done you will get this closing dialog
