Dear Mrs. Ferreira, 
 
My name is Marcos Rana, and I am currently enrolled in high school at IFRJ in Arraial do 
Cabo, where I am studying Computer Science through the integrated technical course at the 
campus. My interest in UFF in Saquarema was sparked when researching the various 
colleges available in the region. Upon discovering the opportunity to pursue computer 
science in a semi-presential format at a highly recognized and nearby institution, I decided to 
submit my application. 
 
I have always been passionate about technology, particularly due to my connection with 
computers and video games. Since discovering this field, my interest has grown significantly. 
Even during my earlier years in school, I began learning certain aspects of computers on my 
own, focusing primarily on hardware and peripherals. This is why I chose to study at IFRJ, 
and thanks to the technical course, I have gained a solid understanding of software, 
programming, and web design. 
 
My goal in entering university is to expand my options in the field of computer science. I also 
aim to capitalize on the high demand for professionals in this sector, which, combined with 
my completion of the advanced level of English at YES, would enhance my employment and 
remuneration prospects. 
 
While I have been a dedicated student, I must admit that my grades in high school were not 
satisfactory in all subjects. The significant distance between my home and the institute, 
coupled with the afternoon study schedule, posed a challenge for me. However, with the 
semi-presential format at UFF, I believe my performance can demonstrate superiority and 
distinction among my peers. 
 
I consider myself an excellent candidate for the university as a new student due to my 
dedication to my areas of interest, strong logical reasoning skills, and ability to work well in a 
team, among other capabilities. Despite not having extensive experience, I can assert that 
there have been numerous practical moments during my journey at IFRJ, such as my 
Computational Project, which will be attached along with my other documents. This project 
involved various elements of programming and logical mathematics for its completion. 
 
I hope that this overview, combined with my passion for the field, proves beneficial for
