International Women's Day English assignment Introduction about Feminism Feminism is a set of political, social movements, ideologies and philosophies that have a common goal: equal rights and a human experience through female empowerment, women's rights and the liberation of patriarchal standards, believed in gender norms. Margaret Hamilton is an American computer scientist, software engineer and businesswoman. She was director of the Software Division at the MIT Instrumentation Laboratory, which developed the flight program used in the Apollo eleven project, the first manned mission to the Moon. Hamilton's software prevented the moon landing from being aborted. Margaret Hamilton Author, lecturer, and leading philosopher of women's rights and the suffrage movement, Elizabeth Cady Stanton formulated the agenda for women's rights that guided the struggle well into the 20th century. Cady pushed for equal rights for women in general. Her 1854 "Address to the New York Legislature" helped secure reforms passed in 1860 that allowed women to gain joint custody of their children after divorce, own property, and participate in business transactions. Elizabeth Cady Bertha Lutz Bertha Lutz, She was Brazilian biologist and educator who was born in São Paulo in 1894. She participated in the constitution's drafting committee in 1934, which guaranteed women equal political rights. She graduated in botany, natural sciences, zoology, embryology, chemistry and biology from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Paris, the Sorbonne, in 1918. Megan Rapinoe Megan Anna Rapinoe is an American professional soccer player. She is internationally known for her crafty style of play on the field and her activism off it. Rapinoe is an advocate for numerous LGBTQIA+ organizations, Megan has been involved in the women's team's equal pay complaint to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission since at least 2016.
