I, SARAH JEFFERSON, promise to observe and
abide by the following lab safety rules while
conducting any science activity or laboratory
experiment, anywhere and at all times.

1.Never work in the lab without an adult.
2.Always read all of the directions and understand what you are
supposed to do BEFORE beginning an experiment.
3.Always follow your teacher's instructions.
4.Always wear safety goggles and gloves when working with
chemicals, hot plates, or glassware.
5.Tie back long hair, and push up baggy sleeves.
6.Absolutely no horseplay in the lab.
7.Never use broken or chipped glassware.
8.Never eat or drink in the lab.
9.Keep your lab area clean, and clean up properly when you are
finished.
10.Never smell a chemical directly.
11.Dispose of chemicals properly (don’t pour them down the drain),
ask if you are not sure how to dispose of chemicals properly.
12. If there is an accident, report it to your teacher immediately.
