Male Reproductive System - Biology Exam Year 10 Biology Time Allowed: 30 minutes Total Marks: 30 Reading: About the Male Reproductive System The male reproductive system is responsible for producing sperm cells and the hormone testosterone. It also delivers sperm to the female reproductive system during reproduction. The testes produce sperm through a process called spermatogenesis and secrete testosterone, which regulates sperm production, muscle growth, and other male characteristics. Sperm are stored and mature in the epididymis, a coliled tube located on the back of each testis. During ejaculation, sperm travel through the vas deferens, a musculur tube that carries sperm toward the urethra. The seminal vesicles and prostate gland add fluids to form semen, which nourish and help transport the sperm. The penis sarves as the external organ for delivering sperm and for urination.
