How to choose what to plant?
If you are beginner choose simple plants like lettuce, basil, parsley, mint. Tomatoes and strawberries may look beautiful but they are really hard to grow.
Remember to analyses the place where you live, what kind of plant grow better and in what season, even if you live in a tropical country. Do not forgot to look to the kind of soil you have.
You will need: 
A PET bottle, PVC pipe, or even a ladder;
Wire, strings ,hooks;
Humus soil;
Seeds;
A great research about the plants you want to grow;
How to prepare the bed?
Prepare the site is probably the most important part of the. You have three important things to remember: 
Smooth the soil. Vegetable are very fragile and they cannot grow in compact soils, so spend o great time doing this.
Leave the soil a little elevated avoiding the puddling of water;
Fertilizer the soil;
 NEVER DO ANY OF THOSE STEPS WITH WET WITH SOGGY SOIL BECAUSE YOUR SOIL ARE GOING TO BECOME A BRICK
