SCREEN Screen: tela, biombo, Screen: examinar, investigar (o corpo ou um órgão do corpo); testar (pessoas), servir de biombo; exibir (um filme). Exemplos: The big screen movie theater – O cinema de tela grande Let's separate the rooms with a screen – Vamos separar as salas com um biombo Look: olhar (substantivo) Look: ver, parecer (verbo) Her new haircut makes her look younger - O novo corte de cabelo dela a faz parecer mais jovem. Look after: tomar conta de Look down for someone: desprezar Look for: procurar Look forward to: esperar ansiosamente Look into: investigar Look up: erguer os olhos; procurar (na internet, no dicionário) Look up to someone: respeitar Loose: solto, frouxo. (Adjetivo) My shoelace is loose; I need to tighten it - Meu cadarço está frouxo; preciso apertá--lo. Lose: perder. (verbo) The wicked witch loses at the end - A bruxa perversa perde no final. Miss: perder, sentir falta, errar. (verbo) I arrived late at the station and missed the train - Cheguei tarde à estação e perdi o trem. The shooter missed the target twice in a row - O atirador errou o alvo duas vezes seguidas. I miss my friends when they are away - Sinto a falta dos meus amigos quando eles estão longe. Exemplos em diálogos Mother: Hey, what are you watching? Son: I'm watching the movie witch blair! Mother: Nice! What is the story of the film? Son: The film tells the story of a witch who lives in the forest and kill all who come to this forest, some teenagers go to the forest and kill her. The wicked witch loses at the end! Mother: I loved it. Careful, do not sit to close to the screen or you’ll have a headache. And be careful not to get a shock, this loose wire tv. Son: Thank you mother, your look can say many things, including protection. Mãe: Ei, o que você está assistindo? Filho: Estou assistindo o filme a bruxa de blair! Mãe: Agradavel! Qual é a história do filme? Filho: O filme conta a história de uma bruxa que vive na floresta e mata todos os que vêm a esta floresta, alguns adolescentes vão para a floresta e a matam. A bruxa má perde no fim! Mãe: Eu adorei. Cuidado, não sente perto da tela ou você terá uma dor de cabeça. E tenha cuidado para não obter um choque, o fio da tv esta solto. Filho: Obrigado mãe, o seu olhar pode dizer muitas coisas, incluindo a proteção. Atividade Façam frases com os verbos, substantivos e adjetivos vistos anteriormente, de maneira adequada (Lose, Loose, Look, Screen, Miss, look after, look down, look for, look into, look forward to, look up, look up someone).
