AV1- Gêneros textuais e o ensino da língua inglesa 
Do you believe in the BNCC’s proposal ? 
Over the past four years, the Base Nacional Comum Curricular – BNCC has been 
discussed with scholars, teachers, and the society at large. Its last version is already in 
force. However, there are still polemic issues regarding its extensive number of 
objectives and its so-called technicist approach to language teaching. The BNCC 
endorses a social interactionist view of language and aims at encouraging the integration 
of the four communicative skills into English lesson plans in Brazilian public schools, 
with special emphasis on orality development. 
Write an argumentative text (5-10 lines) to show if you believe that it is possible (or 
not) to implement the BNCC proposals in Brazilian schools. Highlight at least one 
advantage and one disadvantage of its implementation. 
 
Resposta: 
According to what was discussed during the classes from my point of view, I believe 
that the BNCC stimulates the right to education for all students, both in public and 
private schools. In this way, school institutions will be able to implement more realistic 
and transparent curriculum model for the development of education. It is essential to 
ensure work materials, valuing teachers, and other conditions and resources for 
educators so that student learning is effective. A personal example, where I got only one 
English class for month during the entire high school, the classes weren’t well so there 
was no interaction with the students. Whether it's just only one lesson for month or an 
hour of class during the week, I don't think it's enough. BNCC has a vision progress in 
teaching and applied correctly, would significantly assist with education. 
However, each region and state has different realities, where many individuals do not 
have access to school or the school has no structure or teachers.
