Hi guys, how you doin’? My name is Renan, as you know. Today I will present to you my speech about Movies, Series or Books. In this case I choose to talk about a serie. Six friends in New York, the American series Insomnia Café is the series that I chose to tell you, just kidding. Friends, much better right? That was just the name of the series’ pilot episode. The screenwriters: David Crane and Marta Kauffman were classmates in college and decided to create the series based in their experiences in New York, after they fineshed the college. The series is for me a message about simplicity, where the simple solves, it can be in your work, in your relationships, attitudes, family. Well, Friends show us a comedy with daily situations, bringing very important social themes (á epóca?), showing that our affective relationships are perhaps the biggest decision making of our lives. But all this, Friends can tell you to never forget that: “Your job’s a joke, you’re broke, your life’s DOA, but I’ll be there for you”. One building, two apartments, New York, Manhattan. Friends introduces our friends: Chandler works as a data processor, or “transponstor”, that’s not even a word, joke of the series, Joe is a soap opera actor, Monica aspires to be a chef, Ross is a paleontologist, Rachel is a waitress at the Central Perk café and Phoebe is a masseuse, They usually meet at Monica’s apartment, who loves to be a hostess and who lives with Rachel, sometimes they meet at Joe and Chandler’s apartment, that is in front of Monica’s apartment. Ross and Phoebe live alone. They also like to go to the Central Perk Café on the ground floor of their building (downstairs or ground floor). The series doesn’t have a main character, but the relationship of friends is the point. A little about the six: Ross a fun nerd, Rachel is the “patricinha” (little princess?) how decided to change, Monica is a total neat freak. Chandler is sentimental and his has a sarcastic side, Joe love food and his has a way slow of being, Phoebe and her way sometimes misunderstood by the group. I always recommend this series to everyone who ask me about a good sit-con, friends is a brand, that was on air in the American TV for 10 years with several records and special appearances (like Bruce Willis, Brad Pitty, when Jennifer Aniston's was his girlfriend, Charlie Sheen, George Clooney, Ben Stiller, Julia Roberts, the great Robin Williams, even Paul Rudd (ant man) as Phoebe's boyfriend, anyway). Fortunately it doesn't have a sequel, the series ends at a great time. Your end represents for me the idea of you should have to pass the most of your time with the people you care about.
