News events bring high volatility in the market and trades must be managed properly in 
order not to be caught off guard. 
TRADE MANAGEMENT BEFORE NEWS EVENTS 
When you have an open trade running in deep profit and there is news release at 
hand which will affect the particular pair, it is safe to book some profits (closing 
half position) and shifting the stop loss to breakeven. This allows the running trade 
to be risk-free after some profits have been booked.

3. Don't open new position ahead of the news 
It is always safe to protect your equity and one way of doing that is not opening a 
new position ahead of a news event. In trading, not taking a decision to trade is 
also a good decision. There is a better chance of reanalyzing the market after the 
major news is released. 
It is always safe to get out of a trade that is in small profit before a news release. 
This is mostly used by scalpers going for small pips but swing and position traders 
can hold on to open trades before news release until the pattern they are seeing 
changes.
