The deal with diets
Reviewed by: Mary L. Gavin, MD
[…]
Teens need to be careful about dieting. Extreme dieting can cause
problems if you don’t get the right kinds and amounts of nutrients.
But eating healthy meals and snacks and exercising can help you lose
weight and support normal growth. Regular exercise can help teens feel
healthier and better about themselves.
The best way to diet is to eat a variety of healthy food. Aim to eat more
fruits and veggies, whole grains, and drink water instead of sugary
drinks like sports drinks or sodas. Cut back on meats high in fat (like
burgers and hot dogs), fried foods, sweets, and other junk food.

All Are Welcome
By Alexandra Penfold, Suzanne Kaufman (Illustrator)
4.45 Rating Details • 1,925 ratings • 398 reviews
A warm, welcoming picture book that celebrates diversity and gives
encouragement and support to all kids.
Follow a group of children through a day in their school, where
everyone is welcomed with open arms. A school where kids in
patkas, hijabs, and yarmulkes play side-by-side with friends in
baseball caps. A school where students grow and learn from each
other’s traditions and the whole community gathers to celebrate the
Lunar New Year.
All Are Welcome lets young children know that no matter what, they
have a place, they have a space, they are welcome in their school.
