8 Fast and Easy Ways to Make Extra Money from Home
BY LESLIE TRUEX | Updated November 20, 2019
While many people start a home business to create or replace a full-time income,
some people simply want to generate a little extra money to pay a debt, save for
a rainy day, or use as mad money for small expenses, emergencies, or impulse
purchases. In the past, those who wished to make extra money needed to fi nd
a second job. Fortunately, times have changed. You can use the assets you have,
whether it’s skills, knowledge, or unused items around the home, to make money
from home, often without leaving your house.
If you’re looking to make extra money from home, here are eight ideas to consider:
Sell Your Used and Unwanted Items eBay is a popular resource for selling
various used and unwanted items. However, you
have additional options for selling specifi c used
items, such as books, jewelry, wedding dresses, and
electronics, where you may have greater success
over eBay.
To maximize earnings from these selling sites, it’s
important to take a great photo of the item and
write a compelling, honest description. […] Don’t
forget about selling items offl ine, too; you can have
a garage sale or visit a local consignment shop. [...]
4. In the quotes from activity 3, Albert Einstein mentions hypothetical situations about his
personal life. In the following sentences, mark true (T) or false (F) about what was real and
what was just a hypothesis in his life.
a. Albert Einstein was in fact a scientist, but he would like to be a musician. T
b. If Einstein were a physicist, he would not see his life in terms of music. F
c. When Einstein pondered about scientifi c problems, he always focused on the questions
raised by the problem rather than on the answer he was trying to fi nd. T
d. Einstein was able to solve any scientifi c problem in less than fi ve minutes. F
5. The text below is part of an article that offers tips on how to make extra money. Read it and
check the INCORRECT option about it. Use your notebook.
5. Explique aos estudantes que embora o título indique que serão oferecidas oito dicas, foi feito um recorte no texto (por questões
didáticas) e apenas uma aparece (os estudantes serão incentivados a pensar em outras ideias na atividade seguinte).
