What are Oscips and what is their field of action?

Oscips are civil society organizations of public interest, established by individuals to perform non-exclusive services of the State, with supervision by the Public Power, formalizing the partnership with the Public Administration through a partnership agreement.
The field of action of Oscips is broader than that of social organizations, and their qualification can only be granted to private law non-profit legal entities whose social objectives have at least one of the purposes listed in the Law n. 9.790/99.

As Oscips (Organizações da Sociedade Civil de Interesse Público) são organizações da sociedade civil de interesse público, estabelecidas por indivíduos para realizar serviços não exclusivos do Estado, com supervisão do Poder Público, formalizando a parceria com a Administração Pública por meio de um acordo de cooperação. O campo de atuação das Oscips é mais amplo do que o das organizações sociais, e sua qualificação só pode ser concedida a entidades jurídicas de direito privado sem fins lucrativos, cujos objetivos sociais tenham pelo menos um dos propósitos listados na Lei nº 9.790/99.
