How to build curved walls and ceilings with Durlock® plates?
For curved walls, a structure of hot-dip galvanized steel sheet profiles with curved Soleras should be built. To curve the Solera profiles, cuts are made every 5 or 10 cm in a V shape on one wing of the profile. Cuts are also made in the profile's soul, coinciding with the cuts in the wing. Using the Soleras as a guide, the Montantes will be placed with a determined separation depending on the wall's curvature radius. Durlock® plates of 12.5 mm thickness will be fixed on this structure, and it is recommended to place the plates horizontally to facilitate their curving. T2 screws are used for fixing, placed with a separation of 15 or 20 cm. Depending on the wall's curvature radius, dry or moist plates can be used on the tractioned face.
For curved ceilings built with Durlock® plates, the main beams can be materialized through curved ribs armed with a curved Solera profile plated on one of its faces. To curve the Solera, V-shaped cuts are made on the profile's wings every 5 or 10 cm. These main beams will be placed with a maximum separation of 1.20 m and will be suspended from the slab through rigid candles materialized with Montante profiles placed every 1.00 m at most. Below the main beams, and perpendicular to them, the Montante profiles will be placed with a determined separation depending on the ceiling's curvature radius. Durlock® plates will be fixed on this structure, and it is recommended to work with 9.5 mm plates, placing them transversely to the Montantes to facilitate curving. T2 screws are used for fixing, placed with a separation of 15 or 20 cm. Depending on the ceiling's curvature radius, dry or moist plates can be used on the tractioned face.

To build curved walls and ceilings with Durlock® plates, you will need to follow these steps: 1. For curved walls: - Build a structure using hot-dip galvanized steel sheet profiles with curved Soleras. - Make V-shaped cuts every 5 or 10 cm on one wing of the Solera profiles and corresponding cuts on the profile's soul. - Place the Montantes with a determined separation, depending on the wall's curvature radius. - Fix Durlock® plates of 12.5 mm thickness horizontally on this structure using T2 screws with a separation of 15 or 20 cm. - Depending on the wall's curvature radius, you can use dry or moist plates on the tractioned face. 2. For curved ceilings: - Materialize the main beams using curved ribs armed with a curved Solera profile plated on one of its faces. - Make V-shaped cuts on the profile's wings every 5 or 10 cm to curve the Solera. - Place the main beams with a maximum separation of 1.20 m and suspend them from the slab through rigid candles materialized with Montante profiles placed every 1.00 m at most. - Below the main beams, place the Montante profiles with a determined separation, depending on the ceiling's curvature radius. - Fix Durlock® plates, preferably 9.5 mm thick, transversely to the Montantes using T2 screws with a separation of 15 or 20 cm. - Depending on the ceiling's curvature radius, you can use dry or moist plates on the tractioned face. Remember to always follow the manufacturer's instructions and guidelines for the specific Durlock® products you are using.
