According to Juan García Berruguilla's treatise, the five possible types of roof structures are: 1. Molinera roof structure: It is a simple scissor truss whose pairs can be extended to form the eaves or terminate on the wall and receive additional pieces to form it. 2. Earth roof structure: Described as the oldest and safest, it is a scissor truss reinforced with a knuckle and lower tie. It is called "earth roof structure" because it does not exert any outward pressure. 3. Parilera roof structure: It is a conventional pair and knuckle truss supported on stirrups, with ties received on sills and pairs facing each other in the row. 4. Roof structures with rafters and straps: This type of structure is used when there are no woods of sufficient size or when the width of the roof is very large. Berruguilla does not assign it a specific name, but it consists of a pair and pendulum truss. The treatise describes its elements and some joints in detail, such as the meeting of pairs and knuckles with third-party scissors or the reinforcement of the pendulum with wooden sockets dovetailed under the tie. 5. Pair and pendulum roof structure: This is actually a triangulated truss that allows covering floors of any size. These are the five types of roof structures mentioned in Juan García Berruguilla's treatise.
