Disconnect the coil distributor and remove it from the engine.
Remove the spark plugs.
Remove the cylinder head cover from the engine.
Remove the nut-free screws, the bridge and pivot assembly, and the rocker arms from the top of cylinder #1.
Loosen each nut-free screw alternately one turn at a time to avoid damage to the bridge.
Turn the crankshaft until piston #6 is at top dead center (TDC) of the compression stroke.
Turn the crankshaft 90° to the left (viewed from the front of the engine).
Install a dial indicator on the end of the intake valve pushrod of cylinder #1. Use a rubber hose to attach the indicator stem to the pushrod.
Set the dial indicator needle to zero.
Turn the crankshaft to the right (viewed from the front of the engine) until the indicator needle indicates 0.305 mm (0.012 in.) of valve lift.
The regulation notch index located on the vibration damper must be aligned with the TDC mark on the regulation degree scale.
If the regulation notch is more than 13 mm (1/2 in.) away from the TDC mark in one direction or the other, the valve distribution is incorrect.
The breakage of a camshaft pin could be the cause of an incorrect valve distribution.

Instale um indicador de discagem na extremidade da haste do empurrador da válvula de admissão do cilindro #1. Use uma mangueira de borracha para fixar a haste do indicador ao empurrador. 9. Ajuste a agulha do indicador de discagem para zero. 10. Gire o virabrequim para a direita (visto de frente para o motor) até que a agulha do indicador indique 0,305 mm (0,012 pol.) de elevação da válvula. 11. O índice do entalhe de regulagem localizado no amortecedor de vibração deve estar alinhado com a marca TDC na escala de graus de regulagem. 12. Se o entalhe de regulagem estiver a mais de 13 mm (1/2 pol.) da marca TDC em uma direção ou outra, a distribuição da válvula está incorreta. 13. A quebra de um pino do comando de válvulas pode ser a causa de uma distribuição incorreta da válvula.
