The APGAR score is a method used to evaluate the physical condition of a newborn.
The score is based on five parameters: heart rate, respiratory effort, muscle tone, reflex irritability, and skin color.
The score ranges from 0 to 10, with a score of 8-10 indicating no asphyxia, 5-7 indicating mild asphyxia, 3-5 indicating severe asphyxia, and 0-3 indicating very severe asphyxia.
If the APGAR score is less than 7 in the first minute, a note should be made at the 10th minute.

O escore de Apgar é um método usado para avaliar a condição física de um recém-nascido. O escore é baseado em cinco parâmetros: frequência cardíaca, esforço respiratório, tônus muscular, irritabilidade reflexa e cor da pele. O escore varia de 0 a 10, sendo que um escore de 8-10 indica ausência de asfixia, 5-7 indica asfixia leve, 3-5 indica asfixia grave e 0-3 indica asfixia muito grave. Se o escore de Apgar for inferior a 7 no primeiro minuto, uma nota deve ser feita no décimo minuto.
