Turing does not hire developers located in an OFAC Restricted Region (Cuba,
Iran, North Korea, Syria, or the region of Crimea). Otherwise, we hire skilled
developers from all over the world.
4. What is Turing’s payment structure like?
For fixed billing, salary is processed as per amount fixed monthly and agreed in your
work engagement agreement. On an hourly basis, it is calculated as per the hours you
have clocked on workspace and rate per hour agreed in the work engagement
agreement.
At Turing, every engineer is allowed to set his/her rate. However, Turing will recommend
a salary at which we know we can find a fruitful and long-term opportunity for you. Our
recommendations are based on our assessment of market conditions and the demand
that we see from our customers.
In the vast majority of cases, we recommend salaries for our developers that far exceed
what they would make in their local economies. Turing's goal is to provide engineers with
stable, fruitful work and long term learning opportunities, rather than have engineers
frequently hop from one small project to another.

○ When do I receive my salary in Turing?
Salary is generally processed on the 1st of every month, and you should receive

hour of your work.
○ Does Turing pay in US dollars?
Yes, Turing pays its developers in US dollars only.
○ How much tax does Turing deduct? Will I be taxed twice, once by Turing

your entire amount via bank transfer. However, you might need to pay taxes
according to your country’s tax laws. Also, your bank might charge you a small
amount as a transaction fee.
○ How much does Turing pay remote developers?
At Turing, every engineer is allowed to set his/her rate. However, Turing will
recommend a salary at which we know we can find a fruitful and long-term
opportunity for you. Our recommendations are based on our assessment of
market conditions and the demand that we see from our customers.
In the vast majority of cases, we recommend salaries for our developers that far

Turing is also a company with a human touch. We consider work-life balance as
an essential part of our developers' wellbeing and allow them flexible working
hours.
○ Who pays the developer at Turing: Client or Turing?
While the client hires Turing to help with their developer needs, the developers
are paid by Turing only.
5. What is it like working with Turing?
Once you get a job at Turing, you’ll never have to apply for another job again. With
Turing, remote developers enjoy a high compensation that surpasses local standards by
a mile. Turing developers not only get the best Silicon Valley jobs but also there’s no visa
hassle for them to work for top US software companies. Apart from this, we also allow a
flexible time schedule. However, since most of our clients are based in the USA and
work from 9 am-5 pm Pacific Standard Time (PST), for successful collaboration,
developers need to have a 4-hour overlap within this timezone.
○ How does Turing track working hours?
Turing uses an AI-enabled time tracker to keep a record of your working hours.
As a remote developer, you need to clock in the required hours. You can also
clock in hours manually, but be sure to do so diligently.
○ Do Turing developers need to travel to the client’s site?
Turing developers are not expected to go to the client’s site. Gone are the days
when developers had to undergo visa hassles and relocate to a client’s location.
We believe thattalent is universal and it is our aim to democratize opportunities.
With Turing, now you can work for top Silicon Valley companies from the comfort
of your home.
○ As a remote developer, how many hours do I need to work daily at Turing?
A remote software developer at Turing needs to put in 8 hours a day or 40 hours
a week. Since most of our clients are based in the US and work from 9 am-5 pm
Pacific Standard Time (PST), for successful collaboration, developers need to
have a 4-hour overlap within this timezone.
○ What timezone will I have to work in at Turing?

developers in certain conditions. Regardless, we will recommend you to take our
test so that if an appropriate role comes up we can contact you.
○ Does Turing give preference to good English communication?
Absolutely. Communication plays a crucial part in Turing’s vetting process. Since
most of our clients are US-based companies, it is imperative for a remote
developer to be good at English. This will not only enable you to understand your
project with the current client better but also will open up more opportunities for
you. So, do brush up on your English communication skills to get the best US
and Silicon Valley jobs with Turing.
6. How does Turing’s vetting process work?
Turing’s rigorous vetting process consists of four steps. They are -- the technical tests
(MCQs and algorithm challenges), technical interview, onboarding call, Turing profile
update. The Turing vetting process has been designed scientifically by our leadership
team to find the best of the world's remote engineers.
○ How long does Turing take to clear your application?
We will let you know if you passed our Technical Interview within 24 hours of the
interview. The outcome of all four steps in the vetting process will be
communicated to you at the end of the onboarding call. You will become
matchable following your satisfactory completion of the Turing profile update.
○ Is Turing's vetting process tough?
You, as a developer, will not find the Turing vetting process tough if you're good
at your skills. Turing has designed a rigorous vetting process to hire the top 1%
of the world’s remote software engineers. And once you get a job at Turing, you’ll
never have to apply for another job again.
A candidate is expected to spend 5-10 hours on our programming tests, skill
challenges, and video interviews. These tests are designed by our leadership
(ex-Engineering Managers from Facebook and Google and a Stanford AI
scientist) to find the best of the world's engineers.
Do you think you have the skills to become a Turing developer? Take our test to
find out exciting opportunities.
○ How does Turing vet remote developers?
We, at Turing, hire the top 1% of the world’s remote software engineers by using
a combination of human-vetting and our AI systems to match qualified engineers
with our clients. We evaluate the expertise, experience, performance of remote
engineers based on our coding challenges, interviews, availability, and location to
help identify the best positions for each developer.
○ Will Turing allow me to retake their test if I fail?
Yes, we do allow remote developers to retake our test if they fail to clear it. If you
retake the test within 6-months, you do not need to start over again, you will only
be required to repeat the last step that you failed. However, if 6-months have
elapsed since you took the test, you will be required to re-start the vetting
process.
