Conversation time: David and Laura talk about David’s experiences in Puno. I went to Puno last year. I have been to Puno twice. David: Have you ever been to Puno? Laura: No I’ve never gone there. Have you? David: Yes. Actually, I’ve been there twice. Laura: That sounds great! When did you travel there? David: I went o a trip to Puno with my family last year. Laura: Have you gone to the Titicaca Lake? David: Sure, I’ve visited Uros and Taquile Island. It’s used with finished actions that started in the past. It indicates a specific time. It’s used with unfinished actions that started in the past and continue in the present. It doesn’t indicate a specific time. Present Perfect Tense The present perfect of any verb is composed of two elements: the appropriate form of the auxiliary verb “to have” (present tense), plus the past participle of the main verb. S + have / has + v. past participle + complement S + have not / has not + v. past participle + complement Have / has + S + v. past participle + complement? + - ? They have studied together since they were children. It has rained a lot during the last weeks. Laura has not read that book yet. We have lived together for five years.
