INTRODUCTION
1.1 General.
The manual is composed in accordance to the Norwegian Standard NS5820.
Operators and maintenance personnel have to read and understand this user manual prior to
operate and maintain the equipment. lhe owner of the equipment is responsible to ensure no
unauthorised personnel operate or maintain the equipment.

3 TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
3.1 General technical description.
Crane;
lhe ROLLS-ROYCE MARINE AS Crane type KDE 40 is designed for Iong time operation in a
though and cotrosive environment. lhe crane is equipped with a hydraulic driven winch, cylinders
for moving the main and elbow/telescopic derrick and a hydraulic driven slew gear for slew
operation.
Winch:
The winch is designed to handie the SWL for this crane. The winch is equipped with one
hydraulic motor and a planetary gearbox wíth a multiple disc brake. The winch is operated from
the proportional valve. Depending on the direction of the lever on the proportional valve, the
winch wiII hoist or Iower the Ioad.
The winch is designed for Iifting operations only.
Hydraulic slew:
lhe slew system is designed to operate at up to 5°+2° trim/Iist. The slew gear and the slew motor
are installed at the top side of the slew bearing at the rear of the crane tower. The slew gear is
equipped with a hydraulic motor and a planetary gearbox with a multiple disc brake. The slew
gear is operated by the proportional valve.
Hydraulic cylinders:
The cylinders are designed to operate the crane derricks. The cylinders are equipped with pilot
operated Ioad control valves. The valves have two functions:
1. Maintaining the speed at a constant value independent of the Ioad.
2. Blocking the cylinder motion in the case of hydraulic pressure Ioss. This wiII freeze the
cylinder in the case of hose or pipe failure.

4 PREPARATION
4.1 Introduction
The purpose with this procedure is:
1. Ensure that the units ate handied / iifted in a safe and correct way to avoid any damages on
personnei or equipment.
2. Ensure thatthe instaliation ‘first time start up” wiii be performed in a safe and correct way.
4.2 Unloading and handling
The crane is equipped with two pairs of lifting iugs placed on the main derrick. Use this lugs for
safe handling of the crane.
4.3 Preservation
Storage for 6 months or Iess:
lhe crane is delivered as shown at the Assembly drawing. if the crane is tem porary stored (untii
6 months) before instailation at site, foilowing requirements for preservation must be preformed:

4.4 Insta Ilation of crane
For instailation of the crane, please refer the instaliation drawing found in chapter 8 of this
manual.
4.5 Commissioning / First time start up
The commissioning and first time start up of the crane is to be performed by management of a
supervisor from ROLLS-ROYCE MARINE AS.
As a final check before starting, check the rotation of the electric motor. The motor must rotate
in clockwise direction seen from the motors fan end. lf the motor is rotating in the opposite way,
interchange 2 phases and check again for clockwise rotation.
lhe electric motor is locatedinside the pedestal. Access is possible trough a hatch in the
pedestal.
The pump must not be allowed to run in the wrong direction for an extended period of time, as
this will affect the life time of the hydraulic pump.
When the crane is started the first time there will be air in the system. Let the power pack unit
run for a couple of minutes and shut down for 10 minutes before restarting. lhe winch, slew and
trolley will automatically let out air from it’s system when operated. Be sure that ali air in the
system is ventilated before lifting any load.
4.6 Functional and Ioad test.
Execute ali functions mentioned in the commissioning test procedure (enclosed), before the
crane starts to operate for it’s normal function.
Normally the test consist of a normal function test and a ioad test for 1,25 x SWL. This test is to
be witnessed by a competent person of category A.

Check hydraulic system in order to detect any dissonance or leakages, and if any, shut down the
hydraulic system immediately.
Let the hydrauiic system run for 15-20 minutes before operating control vaive.
Run derrick motions several times from inner to outer position. An elastic movement of the derrick
means that there still is some air in the hydrauIic oil, and if so continue to run this movement. After 2-3
hours this procedure should be repeated.
Run siewing motion for 15-20 minutes without ioad, heavy braking or sudden controliing of handies.

5 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
5.1 Start, normal operation, stop and emergency stop.
Before operation of the crane, the ei.motor must be started. Use the start button on the starter
cabinet for starting the motor. When the pump is running, the crane is ready for operation.
The crane can be stopped with the emergency stop button or with the stop button on the starter
cabinet.
if the crane is suppIied with remote control, the cranes operating functions can be stopped from
the off button on the remote control. This wiII however not cut the power to the crane.
5.2 Operation of crane
The crane is operated from the piafform or the remote control.
The panei is equipped with foIlowing handies from right:
• Winch
• Elbow cylinder / telescopic
• SIew
• Maín cylinder
5.3 Safety instructions
Never handie Ioads heavier than the winch can Iift. lhe cyiinders are able to Iift heavier
Ioads at reduced radius. When Iifting heavy baUs, always check that the winch are able to Iift
the Ioad before any further cylinder operation.
Observe the risk of collision with the superstructure when siewing the crane.
When operating cranes with elbow derrick, the operator should be alert, because derrick
head may be Iowered to the deck structure by the cylinder motion of the eibow derrick.

5.4 Disturbance of operation
See chapter 6.3 and appendix 10.1 in this manual.
5.5 Corrective measures
For corrective measures we refer to chapter 6.3 in this manual.
5.6 Hazards and protective measures
The crane shail be parked with the crane derrick in the cradie when heel + trim exceed 5°+2°.
5.7 Qualification requirements and training program for operators
The user must have training in how to operate and maintenance the equipment.
The user must fuifil the demands from the authorities, for operating the equipment.

ROLLS-ROYCE MARINE AS products.

6 MAINTENANCE
6.1 General
Maintenance includes ali inspections, measurements, adjustments and operation carried out
directiy on the equipment in order to ensure safe, reliable and economical operation
Maintenance documentation shali cover the maintenance which can normaiiy be done by the
user and the maintenance which is not expected to be done by the user.
lf the maintenance documentation shall be the basis of a maintenance system for the complete
piant where the equipment is a pari, then the customer shali estate ali necessary information
and specify ali speciai requests in the inquiry and order documentation.
6.2 Structure and contents of maintenance instructions
This instruction contains a description of a minimum of maintenance for keepíng the equipment
in good shape. On condition that the instructions are foliowed the equipment wiii have a long
iifetime with minor down time.
Safety precautions before and during maintenance:
Make sure that ali electrical power is shut off before maintenance of electricai equipment.
Always turn off the crane and activate the emergency stop when performing maintenance on
the crane.
Recommended spare paris andconsumabies:
We recommend one set of hydrauiic hoses for ali hoses iocated on the outside of the crane. We
also recommend fiiter inserts for booth the pressure and return fiiers.
Use oniy ROLLS-ROYCE MARINE AS original spare paris. For ordering info for spare paris
see chapter 7. ‘Spare paris list”.
Requirements for speciai skiiis and minimum crew for the maintenance:
ROLLS-ROYCE MARINE AS recommend that the crew who perform the maintenance on the
equipment is trained. Refer to chapter 5.7 “Qualification requirements and training program for
operators”.

6.3.2 Periodic maintenance
6.3.2.1 General lubrication.
Bearings Iubricated with grease except slewing ring:
Lubrication points to be checked once a week and iubricated if necessary. See lubrication
chart for details.
Slewing ring, (bali or roiler raceway):
Lubrication points in stewing ríng to be Iubricated with grease every 200th running hour or at
ieast every 3rd month. In order to distribute the grease eveniy whiie Iubricating the slew
bearing, the crane slewing must be operated srnoothly. Ali lubrication points in slewing ring
must be greased.
If the crane is exposed to sait water or rinsed by hose, the slewing ring must be Iubricated the
sarne day. If no lubrication is appiied, a severe decrease in expected life cycle rnust be
expected.
The lubrication should be SO generous that the grease filters out ali the way around the
siewing ring. See chart for lubrication details.
Open gear (pinion and slew ring):
Open gear to be checked and Iubricated every 60th running hours or at Ieast every 2 month.
See lubrication chart for details.

6.32.2 Hydraulic system
Hydraulic ou tank:
Hydraulic cii tank should be cleaned by use of kerosene. Corrosion in the hydraulic tank
should be repaired when checking and changing of hydraulic cii takes place. See possible
painting specification for hydrauiic oh tank or take contact with ROLLS-ROYCE MARINE AS
for more specific information concerning surface treatment.
Filling up the hydraulic tank:
The hydraulic tank must be fhlled up with hydraulic ou in acc. to specification given by
ROLLS-ROYCE MARINE AS. Fhlling up has to be performed through a fhlter. lhe tank may
also be filled up by letting the ou pass through the low pressure filter. Be sure that the tank, ou
levei gauge and fiiler end piece are properiy cleaned.
Inspection and maintenance of hydraulic system:
Durhng the first time of crane operation the hydraulic system should be watched closeiy.
inspection and maintenance work should be done in acc. to prior prepared maintenance plan.
This plan should take into consideration characteristic of crane.
Hydraulic ou:
Check if hydrauiic tank contains water. Remove possible water and contarnination from tank
bottom. lf it is necessary change the ou.
Check cii and air filters. Filter insertions te be cieaned, or changed if necessary.
Never forget!
CLEANLINESS IN A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM IS A NECESSITY.
Hydraulíc ou fifters:
Filters are to be checked after 10 and 30 running hours, and iater every 200th running hours,
or once a month, whatever comes first.
if metallic filter insertions are used, these should be cleaned thoroughly. Filter insertions made
of paper are te be changed for every inspection made during running in phase. lf the hydraulic
system is equipped with a contamination-indicating filter, information concerning fiiter longevhty
and oH contamination is easily read. The filter should be checked and cleaned/changed during
running-in phase even if filter is equipped with contam ination-indicator.
Attention!
if metallic particles are found in the filter, contact ROLLS-ROYCE MARINE AS immediateiy!
Air filterlbreather filter:
lhe air filter must be checked at the sarne time as ou fhlters, and to be changed if necessary. lf
the filter is exposed to dust, dirt and/or deposits from sea water, the air filter inserts have to be
changed more frequently.

6.3.2.3 Gear transmission:
lhe cii in the gearboxes shouid be drained out after the first 200 running hours and be
checked.
The gear transmission housing should be cleaned with mineral cii before new cii is refilled te
transmission.
The used ou may be reused if the cii is fiitrated through filter of 1 Oji fiitration rating. The user of
crane shouid carefuily prevent ali dirt to enter gear transmission.
Gear transmission housing to be fiiied up with an cii of EP-type (which is normaiiy been used).
See iubrication chart for detaiis.
lhe ou in the gearboxes shouid be drained out after every 2500th running hour, at Ieast once a
year. lhe ou must be checked for metal particles.
Transmission gearboxes must be fiiied approximateiyhaif way up at horizontal mounting.

6.3.2.4 Brakes:
The brake(s) must be drained for ou every 2500th running hour, at ieast once a year.
Check to see if there are any metal particies in the cii, if so contact ROLLS-ROYCE MARINE
AS immediateiy.
lhe brake ou shouid be fiiled with hydrauiic ou of these quantities:
The brake must be fiiied approximateiy haif way up at horizontal mounting.
The brake must be fiiied com pleteiy at vertical mounting.
Attention!
Gear ou shouid not be used in the brake housing!
The brakes may then be totaliy damaged.

6.3.2.5 Mechanical equipment:
Check of bolts and axies.
Hinge bolt in cylinder- and piston rod end:
Check, and if necessary retighten bolts in retainer plates once a month. Damaged retainer
plates and matching bolts have to be replaced. Spring washers should not be used as a
locking device in marine deck applications. Use normal hardened piam washers, hardness
HBmin=200.
Bolts in derrick hinges:
Check, and if necessary retighten boits in retainer plates once a month. Damaged retainer
plates and matching boits have to be replaced. Spring washers should not be used as a
locking device mn marine deck applications. Use normal hardened piam washers, hardness
HBmin=200.
lf retainer plates are bent or broken, user of the crane must make contact with ROLLS
ROYCE MARINE AS. A usual cause for bent reta iner plates is insufficient lubrication of pIam
or spherical bearings. lf so, user should revise his routines for maintenance/lubrication.
Wire tope, shackles, wite sheaves, cargo blocks, pulleys and cargo hooks.
Wire, shackles, cargo blocks, cargo hooks, and wire rope fixation by use of multi wire rigging
should be checked daily at intensive use of crane.
Wire tope:
Wire rope should be checked for broken strands, kinks, cork screws or that the strands will
become loosened.
Shackles:
Use only specified and certified shackles. The shackles should be equipped with a bolt with
locking nut by means of a cotter pin. lf the cotter pin belonging to a shackle is missing, the
shackle should not be used until a new cotter pin is obtained. lhe cotter pin should be made
of stainless steel.
Cargo hooks:
Use only specified and certified cargo hooks. Cargo hooks to be equipped with safety latch,
i.e. cargo hook equals Safety hook.
lf safety latch is damaged; Repair latch before cargo hook is put back into operation. Hook
should be replaced as soon as possible.
Unauthorized personnel are not allowed to make any repairs on certified lifting equipment.

Wire sheaves:
Wire sheaves should be checked every 6thl month. lf the crane is in use for mote than 8
hours/day, should wire sheaves be checked every 3rd month.
Wire groove should be checked for wear and tear in flanks and wire tope “print” in bottom of
groove. lf severe wear and tear may be seen in groove, this should be milled or grinded to
normal surface roughness; 1 6-3,211 according to ISO standard.
Make sure that sheave(s) turn easily, this to see if lubrication is sufficient.
Cargo blocks, pulleys:
Cargo blocks and pulleys should be checked every 6th month. lf the crane is in use for more
than 8 hours/day, should these be checked every 3Id month.
Following items should be checked for wear and tear, corrosion, visual cracks and mechanical
damage:
• Wire sheave grooves
• Becket, if any
• Swivel attachment
• Spacers and bolts
• Wire sheave bearings

6.3.5 Major repairs and modifications
Contact ROLLS-ROYCE MARINE AS regarding major repairs and modifications.
6.3.6 Fault finding and corrections of irregularities
lo get to the cause of errors which can occur in the hydraulic system and the repair of this,
please contact ROLLS-ROYCE MARINE AS.
During test run and repair of hydraulic pumps, motors and hydraulic valves, service
instructions should be followed accurately.
Pay special attention to conditions regarding guarantee claims. If unauthorized handling of
equipment takes place, no warranty claims wiII be accepted by ROLLS-ROYCE MARINE AS.
Confer with ROLLS-ROYCE MARINE AS service personnel in difflcult cases, or send
equipment to ROLLS-ROYCE MARINE AS or dealer for service.
If a seal on a hydraulic valve is broken, this wiII be regarded as an unauthorized act, causing
warranty to be invalid.
The only exception is if the user receives a written authorization from ROLLS-ROYCE
MARINE AS to break seals on specific valves.
6.3.7 Storing, preservation and maintenance of preservation
See the instructions in chapter 4.3 “Preservation”.

Application/Limitation
1. Materiais with 3.1 certificates are to be used when mnanufacturing load carrying parts.
Traceability is assurned taken care ofby the rnanufacturer’s quality system.
2. The various components transferring the ioad Iike wire clamps, wires, shackies etc.
are to cornply with an internationai standard or code and are to be delivered with
manufacturer’s certificates.

3. Load carrying bolts at-e to be pre-stressed according to procedures acceptable to the
attending surveyor. We have assumed that the load carrying bolts are of 8.8 qt;ality ou
higher.
4. Connection and support ofthe complete winch to the supporting structure are not
included iii this approval and are asstimed covered by separate drawings.5. The winch drtirn is approved for maximum four layers ofwire.
6. We assume that the wire rope is to be spooled on the drum in a satisfying way. The
operator should have fulI over-view ofthe spooling/drum fiom the manoeuvring
position(s). Minirnum 3 turns ofwire rope is always to remam on the drum.
7. The hydraulic system and components are to comply with pertinent parts ofDNVs
“Rules for Classification of Ships’, Part 4, Chapter 6 or other recognised standard/code.
Hydraulic cornponents are to be delivered with rnanufacturer’s pressure test certificates.
8. The hydratilic system for the winch is to be designed in such way that manual
operation ofthe winch is possible iii case ofpower failure. This requirement is to be
fulfilled when the winch is a part of a life saving system.
9. Minirnum recovery speed for rescue boats is 0, 3 m/s and 0. 8 m/s for fast rescue
boats.
Type Approval documentation
Tests to be carried out
In order to fulfil the Type Approval, type testing showing compliances with IMO
Resolution MSC 81(71)” Testing Part 1” shall be carried out.
• For delivery according to Lifting Appliances, winch unit is to be function and load
tested according to Section 6 ofthe Rules before a DNV product certificate can be
issued.
For delivery according to SOLAS a functional test is to be carried out showing
compliances with IMO Resolution MSC $ 1(70) “Testing Part II”
Marking of product
The product to be marked with manufacturer’s name/trademark and type number
identification.
Certificate retention survey
For retention ofthe Type Approval, DNVs representative shall carry out biennial Product
Audits if regular certification no longer takes place.
