A. Capabilities and Monitoring
1.Describe options for monitoring and integration with services and tools, such as AWS, VMWare, Kubernetes, and Docker.
2.Configure the detection of a custom service and describe the options available for custom service detection.
3.Describe the options available for configuring auto-detected services.
4.Discover, describe, and tune anomaly detection sensitivity, override thresholds, create threshold alerts, and disable alerting for certain applications, hosts, database services, or for other tiers.
5.Evaluate the impact a security vulnerability has on your environment.
B. Components and Architecture
1. Describe the benefits of enabling additional features and functions, such as ActiveGates or 3rd-party integration.
2. List the user roles and groups required for using Dynatrace for managed installations and via the user interface.
3. Describe how Dynatrace monitoring affects network overhead.
4. Provide options to configure backup for a Dynatrace cluster.
Which of the followng synthetic monitors require an activegate? Public HTTP, private browser clickpath, private HTTP, public browser clickpath.
C. Digital Experience Management
1. Describe the importance of Key User Actions and setting appropriate Apdex thresholds for automated Dynatrace anomaly detection.
2. Create a synthetic monitor to ensure a key application function is available to your customers.
3. Identify a specific user or user session, and use tagging to enhance your user monitoring.
User experience is defined by user action, user session, or aggregate?
Apdex is defined by user action, user session, or aggregate?
When is a new user session visible? 4 minutes after session started, after user session is complete, (2 other options)
What is the retention period for key user action metrics and data?
D. Install and Configure
1. Define user permissions for a Dynatrace managed installation.
2. Configure Dynatrace monitoring in various types of environments, including with PaaS offerings.
3. Describe and set options within Dynatrace configuration files.
4.How are tags assigned to a host?
5. How are hosts removed from monitoring?
E. Problem & Resolution
1. Interpret problem history and identify statistics for a specific time frame using a Time Frame Selector, keeping in mind the limitations of transaction storage and time resolution.
2. Access service infographics, charts, reports, and log files to analyze response time, failure rate, CPU consumption, and other metrics, and align anomalies with log entries to identify issues.
3. Describe how Dynatrace Application Security identifies Security Vulnerabilities in your environment.
F. Product Extensions, SDK, and API
1. Create a custom extension for a specific database process.
2. Describe the features and functions provided by the Dynatrace API.
3. Integrate Dynatrace with 3rd party tools, such as load testing and notification systems.
G. Reporting & Analysis
1. Provided a user session or mobile application metric and describe the data it represents.
2. Use filters and USQL to further analyze data within your environment.
3. Create an SLO for user experience based on Apdex measurements.
4. Describe how Dynatrace determines baselines for your application and what factors might influence baseline calculations.
What are the problem priorities? Note that one question had INFO vs INFORMATION – you must use the correct level name!
Extension
· OpenKit is for IoT devices/rich client monitoring
1. User actions/sessions
2. Report values/metrics/errors/crash
3. Server side pure-path not possible
4. Create metrics not possible
 SDK
Custom instrumentation for non supported technologies (not supported by OneAgent out of the box )
• Trace incoming and outgoing remote calls
 • Trace database requests
• Trace incoming and outgoing web requests
• Trace in-process asynchronous execution
• Trace queues and messages
What is OpenTelemetry?
• APIs
• SDKs
• Agents
 • Collector Service
Integrations
DB
Dynatrace provides you with insights into the database load, response times, and failure rates. Even connection acquisition times can be monitored. As Dynatrace is a full-stack solution, it also provides insights from the infrastructure perspective of your databases—just by deploying OneAgent on the database hosts. This adds a second view into health metrics like CPU or memory utilization and even network health. Even log files are included in the analysis. If you can't install OneAgent on a database host itself, you can get visibility through our integrations with cloud providers (AWS and Azure) by using an ActiveGate extension or by reporting important metrics via a custom device that you set up.
Dynatrace monitors a number of database technologies out of the box with your OneAgent deployment, as well as using ActiveGate extensions you can run from an ActiveGate connecting remotely to your database server.
Supported out of the box
Cassandra
Couchbase
CouchDB
PostgreSQL
Redis
Extension required
IBM DB2
Microsoft SQL
MySQL
SAP HANA
Log
Log retention: 5-90 days
Log data ingestion is limited by default to 10,000 log events per minute per cluster.
Dynatrace automatically discovers, analyzes, and stores logs every 60 seconds.
Logs can be auto-discovered by Oneagent OR can be tagged to Process Groups
Turn off log autodiscovery
If you don't want Dynatrace to automatically discover new log files on a specific monitored host, you can turn off log autodiscovery.
1. On the host, open the log analytics configuration file for editing.
· On Linux:
/var/lib/dynatrace/oneagent/agent/config/ruxitagentloganalytics.conf
· On Windows:
%PROGRAMDATA%\dynatrace\oneagent\agent\config\ruxitagentloganalytics.conf
2. Set the following:
AppLogAutoDetection = false
3. AppLogContentAccess
Enables access to the log file content on this host. If set to false, the log file will be displayed in the user interface, but the content won't be accessible. Note that the OneAgent will still auto-detect log files unless the flag AppLogAutoDetection is set to false
· To check if Dynatrace Log Monitoring is enabled globally:
1. In the Dynatrace menu, go to Settings > Monitoring > Monitored technologies.
2. Find Log Monitoring in the list of supported technologies, and select Edit (pencil icon).
3. Check if Monitor Log Monitoring on every host option is enabled.
· To check if Dynatrace Log Monitoring is enabled on a host level:
Use OneAgent CLI and execute the oneagentctl command with the --get-app-log-content-access parameter to check whether Log Monitoring is enabled:
1. Linux: ./oneagentctl --get-app-log-content-access
2. Windows: .\oneagentctl.exe --get-app-log-content-access
AI Ops
Module 4
· Pages and Page groups
Use pages to analyze user actions on a single webpage across all user sessions.
Use page groups to automatically group user actions that lead to technically similar or equal pages while not losing the details of individual instances.
In Dynatrace versions 1.213 and earlier, you had to configure user action naming rulesto achieve a similar outcome. The final result is that individual user actions such as Loading of page /journeys/62511135 and Loading of page /journeys/61303030 are mapped to a common URL string: Loading of page /journeys/id.
Angular or Vue.js: Dynatrace automatically instruments your respective framework router, which then immediately provides you with developer-friendly, intuitive names and groups.
React : intelligent cluster-side grouping
 • Network zones
 • Custom queries
• Service-Level Objectives (SLO)
• Data privacy and security
• Application security
Exam Notes
Enablement & cost control :
Percentage of user sessions captured and analyzed
Percentage of user sessions recorded with Session Replay.
Events: all individual incidents like availability, error, slowdown, resource Problem : All co-related events
Visual resolution path is included in the Root cause (see the example above). The visual resolution path is an overview of the part of your topology that has been affected by the problem
Alert profiles
· Severity
· Management Zones
· Tags
· Duration of a problem:
Mark low volume requests as key requests for throwing alerts
Automatic baseline is available within 2 hours of service /application detection
