Understand the benefits of the ODIS system and its place in the service core process Be able to start and navigate efficiently through the ODIS system. Understand the functions of ODIS such as Test Instruments, Flashing, Diagnosis, Info, and Admin. Be able to carry out basic operations on the vehicle using ODIS such as resetting service indicators, key coding and switching off transport mode. Be able to carry out Guided Fault Finding and add tests to the Test Plan using the “Select own test” function. Be able to carry out Guided Functions on the vehicle. Be able to carry out Vehicle Self Diagnosis on the vehicle. Be able to utilise the test instruments function through the ODIS system. Be able to carry out the “Flashing” function in ODIS. Know how to access vehicle information such as current flow diagrams, technical product information, vehicle history, production codes, and workshop manuals through the ODIS system. Be able to print and save diagnostic logs, or send them online. Be able to stop and resume diagnostic sessions. Be able to activate the “Test drive mode”. Understand the “HotFix” function. Be able to access the “Online help” function for ODIS. Know how to send support requests online. Connect the diagnostic tester to the training vehicle and start the ODIS programme. Introduce a fault to the vehicle (for example a sensor or an actuator on the engine). Start diagnosis and enter vehicle data. Let Guided Fault Finding interrogate all of the control units, and then see if it is possible to check the TPIs using ODIS. _________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________ With the assistance of Guided Fault Finding, carry out the guided test in the test plan for the fault you have introduced. Add your own test to the test plan (select the test e.g. “Rear lid lock unit F256) and process the test.
