Dados Atualizados sobre Transtornos Globais do Desenvolvimento (TGD)
Estima-se que cerca de 2 milhões de pessoas no Brasil estejam no espectro autista.
O Censo do IBGE de 2022 incluiu, pela primeira vez, perguntas específicas sobre autismo, com resultados previstos para 2024. ​
Diagnóstico no SUS
Estudo publicado na revista Psicologia USP analisou dados de crianças até 12 anos atendidas nos Centros de Atenção Psicossocial Infantojuvenil (CAPSi) entre 2013 e 2019, utilizando a CID-10 para classificar os TGDs. ​. ​
Inclusão Escolar
O número de alunos com autismo matriculados nas escolas brasileiras cresceu 48% nos últimos anos, refletindo maior conscientização e diagnósticos precoces.
Atualizações Diagnósticas
Com a publicação do DSM-5 em 2013, o termo "Transtornos Globais do Desenvolvimento" foi substituído por "Transtorno do Espectro Autista", unificando subtipos anteriores como Síndrome de Asperger e Transtorno Desintegrativo da Infância.
Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA);
Síndrome de Asperger;
Transtorno Desintegrativo da Infância;
Transtorno Invasivo do Desenvolvimento, sem outra especificação (TID-SOE).
Principais Transtornos do Espectro TGD:
Necessidade de adaptações curriculares individualizadas;
Estímulo à comunicação alternativa (pictogramas, PECS, etc.);
Ambientes estruturados e previsíveis;
Trabalho conjunto com famílias 
e equipe multidisciplinar.
Implicações na Prática Pedagógica:
Promover inclusão e respeito às diferenças;
Identificar sinais precoces e encaminhar para avaliação especializada;
Colaborar com planos educacionais individualizados (PEI);
