Session 41 High Level Thinking • What you want isn't necessarily what you need. 1. What you want to learn isn't necessarily what you need to learn to become a great leader. • Do you want to keep painting the picture of your life by looking at your past, or do you want to look at the blank canvas of your future and paint something new and more empowering and fun? • Great thinkers come from a sense of vision and creativity, then take massive action to manifest it. • One way to think about Life is that it's "practice that counts." Take these tools and turn them into practices you bring into your life every day. • In NLP, they have a phrase that sums up the ultimate practice in being a leader: "You Go First." 1. You go first in your mind, emotions, and/or body where you want someone else to go. • Most people are pursuing things in life: love, money, happiness. etc. But if you want to have 10x as much of it in your life, instead of trying to pursue it, turn it into something you bring TO life, that you bring TO situations. 1. You can look for love, but if you want to experience a lot of it, bring love with you into situations. Come from s place of love. 2. When we try to get things, like happiness, it always alludes us. It's like a drug. 3. Instead, realize the chasing mechanism is a game we come pre-wired with, decide to stop playing, and instead bring the thing we used to want to "get." 4. Then instead of getting a drug hit every once and awhile, these traits can become permanent conditions in life. • So... what are the most important things that you want more of in your life? What do you want others to have more of? • Be careful of trying to turn everybody into us. Instead of bringing love to the world, some people are actually saying "My way is the right way to love people." 1. The Mean Green Meme: 6's want to love everyone and take of the planet, but if you don't like their idea, some get real angry and upset. Which is weird if they're all about love. • Evolve yourself as much as possible, so instead of trying to make others like us and at our level, we can immediately sense where they're at, get in rapport, align with them, and then communicate with them in their language. • It's not about a single insight or shift of perspective, it's about continually practicing it in every situation. • It's a never ending journey of development, refinement, and contribution, because the more you do it, the more subtle tweaks you learn, the more leverage you get, and the more impact you can make on the world.
