Refer to ESR 0331 for correct bogie/wagon combinations. The bogie wheel diameters shall be checked so that they comply with the other bogie in the vehicle in accordance with ESR 0331. Before fitting beneath the vehicle, the brakes on the bogie shall be regulated in accordance with ESR 0545. The handing of the bogie should be as required for the wagon. For identification of which hand the bogie is, see ESR 0545 The vehicle and bogie sidebearer setup heights shall be in accordance with ESR 0040 and ESR 0041 The bogie centre liner shall be installed correctly and the centre pin shall be in position. The bolster should be centrally located within the gib openings. Any items used to keep the bolster in this location during transport should be removed. The wagon shall be lowered onto the bogie ensuring that the centre pin engages in the wagon and that no damage is caused to the bogie or vehicle components. RailCorp Engineering Standard — Rolling Stock Installation of bogies under freight wagons ESR 0044 © RailCorp Page 4 of 4 Issued May 2013 UNCONTROLLED WHEN PRINTED Version 1.1 The vehicle pull rods shall be connected in accordance with ESR 0312 for brakegear security and the application of split pins. With the vehicle sitting on the bogies the sidebearer clearances shall be measured and adjusted if required in accordance with ESR 0040 and ESR 0041. Any reused bogie shall have a DI inspection before fitting beneath the wagon in accordance with ESR 0041. Stamp the same date on the bogie history plates, if fitted, which are welded to each bolster or frame. The stamping shall be 10mm high placed within 5 mm to the top of the plate. Subsequent stamping shall be placed from 5 to 10 mm below the last stamping. Fit and/or adjust the automatic load compensating valve, if required, in accordance with ESR 0310. Conduct a single car air test in accordance with ESR 0311.
