2 MIRACULOUS PRAYERS FOR THE HEALING OF ALL PHYSICAL, MORAL AND SPIRITUAL AILMENTS ABBÉ JULIO TRANSLATED FROM THE ORIGINAL FRENCH AND EDITED BY DR. K. OTENG-GYANG 3 Miracles are based on FAITH and PRAYER. "And Prayer", says Abbé Julio, "is that ardent supplication which ascends towards heaven like pure incense, and is so powerful in projection that not only does it produce a new orientation to events, but can create a new one completely from scratch". Nobody prays in vain. With your faith, now comes the Prayer to heal your ailments, relieve your suffering and /or chase away evil spirituality. This is Divine Language. 4 TO THE DEAR READER Make the sign of the cross wherever you see this sign. INTRODUCTION/ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS Abbé Julio clearly states that the Holy Patriarch, Jean Sempe, left these MIRACULOUS PRAYERS with them with the proviso that they, in turn, should also hand them down to future generations. And for a long time, these miraculous prayers have been available in French. By His grace, we now make them available in English for the benefit of us all. May the good Lord God bless them, and make them as miraculous for us, as they were in the hands of our holy forebears. May it be so! Our thanks go to all those whose toils, dedication and perseverance have made this edition possible, especially, Madam Jeanne Oteng-Gyang of France, who was inspired by the Holy Grace of God to detect and correct some discrepancies in the numbering of the Psalms, something that had gone unnoticed in all previous editions. We are equally grateful to all those Priests, Magnetizers, Believers and French editors who have continued to publish these texts in French for so long, and kept this powerful, miraculous flame alive. But above all, we are extremely grateful to God, and his holy servants Jean Sempé and Abbé Julio, who spiritually helped make this translation and edition possible. Although, a very simple man with little education, he was a Great Man of God. And because his good deeds and the healing miracles resulting from his prayers were known almost everywhere, many people both in France and in the world at large, wept for him on that day, and continue to do so. Since his demise, there has been a continuous influx of several desperately, suffering people, and even many more letters to his humble retirement abode situated in Rue Fontenay. We were fortunate to know this good, elderly and holy man personally, become his intimate friend, and subsequently, his faithful biographer during his last days on earth. We shouldn't forget to say that for a very long time, and more than anybody else, we were first hand witnesses to his good deeds and healing miracles. We shall not trace his life of simplicity as well as his devotion and love for his fellow man here. We shall simply say that Jean Sempé possessed extraordinary powers of the highest degree to heal the most desperate of patients. However, he always humbly declared that he didn't originally possess this gift, but had been endowed with it by someone else, another servant of God. He prayed alone; he prayed with many others, blessed and/or magnetized water, salt and oil. Solely in the name of Jesus, and by Jesus, he chased away evil spirits from patients who were either presented to him, or were even far away from him. This is how he lived and spent his time in our midst doing good. And now, posthumously, he has received his reward for his dead body rests peacefully in Vincennes cemetery, where many of his faithful friends still continue to go to invoke his name, and pray on his tomb. Jean Sempé's spirit has not abandoned us, but is still here with us, watching over us, continuing its mission here on earth. Better still, -- and we know what we are saying - -he comes back to visit us, to speak to us and to teach us. Defunctus adhuc loquitur. (Although dead, he still speaks to us ). When he was with us here in flesh and blood, he insisted many times that: "Our entrusted mission, this divine mission which God in his infinite mercy has gifted us for the sake of our brothers and sisters, is to heal every disease, whatever it may be, in all those who are desperately sick, console those who weep, drive away evil spirits when they exist in human beings, and also from all places, and to give great souls supreme enjoyment, in as much as the human soul has the capacity to accept, something which is the sole preserve of the Infinite God. This wonderful gift to heal and console will not perish with us. It has been given to us by a servant of God, and we shall also transfer it to a designated successor in a time and day that will be revealed to us." I believe that this day and hour has arrived, for Jean Sempé has entrusted all his manuscripts to us. It is to us that he has left his ancient book of prayers. It is to us that 8 he has bequeathed his miraculous secret methods for healing all physical and moral diseases, as well as the power to bring relief to the sick. However, he has left us this legacy with the proviso that we, also, on our part, would not let this gift perish, but would transmit it to whoever fulfils the necessary conditions to possess it, according to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. "Miracles " which by the definition of Churches, are events involving the toppling or suspension of immutable laws, are by themselves, very scarce. However anyone who knows how to manipulate two things: Faith and Prayer , can heal any person, even himself, in a way which would tend to appear miraculous, judging by how fast the healing occurs, or by its sudden nature. So, to begin with, let us try to understand these two fundamental Infinite levers of healing. To start with, Faith is not the prerogative of any particular religion whatsoever. And this is why a Brahmin scholar, a modest Indian Fakir, a Tibetan Lama, the Priest John Kronstadt of the Russian Orthodox Church, Saint Gregory Thaumaturgus, a Bishop of the Catholic Church, or any simple Believer like Jean Sempé and many others did perform, or continue to perform many prodigious and inexplicable healings which the ignorant crowd calls miracles. The person with a pure heart, good intentions or regular conduct does not have to worry about more or less smothering cultural attitudes. Although he may follow the teachings of his primary education with its traditional prejudices as well as social norms, and if he is intellectually inclined, more or less deep deductions from his own reasoning, whatever be the name of his religion, if he has faith, this faith would transcend into something of a much higher nature. It is this Faith that would move mountains and touch God himself in order to bring Him down on earth to man (down to this creature, man , who is so small and sublime), and in turn make the man himself ascend to God. Faith sleeps in the heart of each of us just like a mustard seed does right in the bosom of the earth; which seed is so small that it is hardly seen, but which, with a minute amount of sunlight develops, grows and becomes tall like a tree with vast branches. Religious congregations which are intelligent aggregations directedby their Founders towards a precise and unique goal know this powerful occult power of faith; and better still, how to shift its current to their benefit. They know that this faith needs an external sign, just like the sacraments of the church, e.g. a revered statue, wonderful waters, etc. And employing the virtues of occult formulae that they have discovered through research and traditions from ancient temples, and which secrets they jealously guard, they converge these powerful rays of divine human faith to a particular area which they then select and consecrate by certain rites. Subsequently, with feverish activity, they set up their sanctuaries, or rather their counters at that location, and then cross their arms in holy and sweet idleness, for the sign that they have drawn for their exclusive profit will work by virtue of the 9 aforementioned rays. This will continue until a time, when for other occult reasons, the divine rays stop. Then, the horde of sacred suckers will rapidly abandon the location, only to re-assemble with more ardent aspirations and bitterness elsewhere on another part of the globe. This is the explanation for the succession of holy places of famous pilgrimages such as La Salette shrine, Lourdes, Sacré-Coeur, and other lesser known places which are spread over the Catholic world and especially in France, where there is stiff competition. All the same, the faith of the supplicants does produce good deeds, but they are of lesser importance, for they have been diverted from their goal by cunning people, and served the interest of only a religious sect or a monastic clan, whereas the power to heal is a treasure which belongs to everybody without distinction of worship or situation, and which must benefit not only some privileged persons, but all of suffering humanity. Prayer , which is the second arm of the Infinite Lever is, in theory, any ardent supplication which ascends towards heaven like pure incense, and is so powerful in projection that not only does it produce a new orientation to events, but can create a new one completely from scratch. "Ask and you shall receive," said Christ. There is no indicated exception and no required condition. It is only necessary to ask with the required faith, for the demand to be accepted and satisfied. But, alas, due to the thick clouds which surround us in this lower part of the earth, and the enormous weight of our material attachments, the wings of our souls cannot be deployed in full freedom; and hardly do we lift off from the ground with our heavy burden, than we do fall down again more heavily. We know nothing about divine language; and like a child we only mumble informal requests. This is why Christ helped us by providing us with this sublime prayer of a child to his father: "Our Father, which art in heaven...etc." Throughout the ages, Prayer has become more specialized and developed more explicit formulas, relying more or less on powerful patronage as a result of the considerable variety of the illnesses that afflict poor humanity. And humanity has carefully saved, either by way of traditional cultures, or in extremely rare books, those prayers which from experience, have proved very efficient. Jean Sempé has transmitted these ancient prayers and precious books to us, and charged us to transmit them, in turn, to others. He has equally requested us to choose as our associates those who possess faith, join us in prayer, as well as show the willingness to heal illnesses and drive away evil. We repeat here that anyone with the will to do so, can heal his own illnesses and those 10 of his brethren by virtue of the double and powerful levers of Faith and Prayer . Every person has more or less some of this attribute in him, and this is in proportion to the strength and virtue of his soul, which some people call holiness, others auto- suggestion, magnetic power, etc. Furthermore, this power can be used either for good - as we see in the prodigious works of Saints, white magic, healing magnetism, occultism , -or for evil : sorcery, spellbinding, black magic, devilish works , - depending on the direction of human wish. But the greater mass of humanity possesses weaker souls, either due to an individual's own fault, or his lack of rational culture. Such people, far from possessing this magnetic force, suffer from it, or are forced to go in search of it. Within such people, the light of faith happens to be a small glimmer that quivers and threatens to go off when exposed to the slightest breath of a moral storm. For such people, prayer is a forgotten language, a lost harmony. However, it is imperative to revive the flame, and to give back to the soul its divine breath. This is precisely the role of the Seer, the Magnetizer worthy of the name, the disinterested Healer, the man of God. Jean Sempé has been all that during his lifetime and even after his death, he continues to carry on his good deeds and still directs us. This is why based on his inspiration, we founded the *Union of Magnetizers, with the sole objective of using this powerful magnetic force, which some people possess, to heal all diseases, especially those diseases which are most recalcitrant, hopeless to cure, and cannot be treated by any type of drugs. This was precisely the objective of the Union of Magnetizers, and the sole reason for its existence. Is there a more noble aspiration than to renew and continue the sublime mission of Christ, this Great Thaumaturge, or divine Magnetizer who said to his disciples: "Go forth, and do as your Master did. Teach the people. Heal all diseases in my Name?" Nevertheless, with very few exceptions that we know well, Magnetizers do not fulfil their primary mission. They do not heal and cannot heal because they think solely about providing consultations on questions with little relationship to true healing Magnetism. Within their luxuriously furnished offices, they share experiences which are ridiculous, or even dangerous to the health of their patients, and seek to prophesy a future which only God knows, or unveils to a selected few and virtuous clairvoyants. By so doing, they only satisfy the evil passions of their customers, or of their own evil passions using their customers, who in this way, become their victims. Some of them even commit shameful scams, or crimes for the love of money. In fact, most of them deceive the naive, who although pay them handsomely, receive nothing for their money's worth. Magnetism thus diverted from its path is no longer a blessing, but a profound evil in society. And although it is necessary to develop this blessed gift, it is imperative to uproot the associated evil wherever it is found. It is precisely with the view to attain these double objectives that initially, we 11 accepted to assume the position of Presidency of the Union of Magnetizers. We spared no efforts in educating the professional magnetizers to better understand the sublime nature of their mission. We even did not hesitate to incur the wrath of some members, by expulsing certain absolutely unworthy members. By so doing, we hoped to provide better guidance for the Union. However, we soon discovered that some members, as rowdy as they were ignorant, wanted to impress upon the Profession of Magnetism a different direction of their own, by leading the Union more and more towards charlatanism or unsavoury exploitation. Not wishing in any manner to bear the responsibility for such a criminal aberration, we decided to quit the Union. Of course, we shall not hesitate to go back tothe Organization, should it return to its principal mission, which involves the healing of whatever is declared impossible to cure by the known methods of science. Auri sacra fames.. the sacred hunger for gold , is the stumbling block of any organization, whether it is called Union or Church, but more especially, the church. Those of us, who desperately wish to see the group and the unity of forces accomplish substantial healings have simply reverted to the original way of thinking of our friend and mentor, Jean Sempé, who healed with discretion, without seeking any monetary compensation. These wonderful prayers found in this small edition are the very prayers of Jean Sempé. In fact, they are miraculous because many times, when Jean Sempé used them on patients, we witnessed the resulting miracles, and they still do produce miracles when we also use them. However, we should not forget that these Prayers are particularly effective when the person wishing to be healed and the healer say it with faith at the same time. When this happens, an extremely powerful current is produced on the demanded request. During this time, if there is any spiritual animistic imperfection on the patient's part, the healer would know and feel it. Then, he will use incommunicable occult prayers obtained by means of formulas that only the Clergy and Healers know ( such as blessing of water, oil, salt, exorcism etc.) in order to re-establish the torrential force of the equilibrium. During this time, the person wishing to be healed or relieved of his suffering must follow some very important recommendations. He must maintain his body and soul in a state of purity, and lead a normal life. And he must pray to God to keep him calm, even in the face of any serious, seemingly contradictory adversities that may come his way. The possession of this present edition of Miraculous Prayers , will facilitate the work of everyone, because in it can be found a different formula for each type of aliment for which relief is being sought, as the reader will discover for himself. We do not want the ungodly, the unbelieving or the doubters to come to us; we will not be able to help them. They may show disdain this book because they do not suffer from any ailments. 12 But the desperate, those who suffer a great deal, those abandoned by doctors, those who expect nothing from human assistance, will flock to us in large numbers. Our force is that we are in no way usurping the work of doctors, since we do not give prescriptions for any disease. The Faculty of Medicine will not prevent us from healing people in the name of Jesus. We are equally neither empirical nor vulgar charlatans. And we do not use either magic or sorcery, like some jealous spirits and fanatics claim. Our aspirations are much higher than their little commercial shop grudges. With or without their permission, we shall continue to perform good deeds. When the shadow of Saint Peter healed the lame while passing over the public place, the apostles, their colleagues as well as the simple faithful believers were not jealous, even though they too had, by then, obtained the gift of healing. On the contrary, they blessed God, who was thus manifesting himself in such a most prodigious manner, in the most humble of his servants. Therefore, let us all praise the Lord, my dear colleagues, Priests of Christ, as well as all of you good and honest faithful believers who follow his teachings in all humility, and must preach his pure doctrine. To love God is the first and greatest commandment; to love your neighbour, is practically the second commandment which is similar to the first. Our sole ambition, therefore, is to do as much good as possible to everyone around us, without any distinction whatsoever. We welcome the poor with love, because they are, indeed, friends of Jesus. The wealthy that we heal also do help us immensely to extend this our beneficial mission widely. Disinterestedness is the primary condition for obtaining the complete plenitude of the gift of healing. That is why Jean Sempé was poor all his life. If he didn't die of hunger, it is because among the many people that he healed were some who were generous and thankful, and provided all his material needs until his last moments on earth; including even those material things that this elderly man never thought of, since his only concern was praying to God to drive away evil spirits and heal every sick person. He went through life doing good, but acquired nothing for himself. As his successors, we equally intend to follow his example. Like our Holy friend Jean Sempé, we only wish to do good deeds to others, and leave the rest to God. .... which provides food to the little birds...... We say "successors" of Jean Sempé because with his inspiration, and just like he himself predicted when he was alive, a predestined soul, a true Clairvoyant and Healer has been sent to us by the Divine. She is a successor, not by her merits and virtues-- which we believe are much greater before God -- but by the power of her faith and prayer, and by her unlimited confidence in the intercession of the blessed Jean Sempé. Like him, she lives humbly and in hiding, shunning publicity. Like him, she 13 believes in the necessity to do good and heal in the silence of prayers and novenas. Those who suffer, those who would wish to pray with her and Jean Sempé in order to heal the sick will know where to find her, and we shall voluntarily assist whoever, in good faith and in simplicity, wishes to seek the faculties of this Clairvoyant, and the heavenly protection of Jean Sempé. We are convinced that all demands made though this powerful assistance will find favourable answers, for since the death of our Holy Friend, these prayers - Miraculous Prayers - continue to cure and provide relief to many, and therefore constitute guaranteed insurance for the future. As a Priest and heir to the spiritual will of our Holy Patriarch, we shall support everyone, either by providing this edition to whoever wants it, or by organizing novena prayers, or in cases where we judge necessary, by supplying materials prepared and blessed by us according to the occult formulae prescribed by our friend Jean Sempé. May God allow Jean Sempé, servant of God to help us in our task for the greater glory of his Name, and the relief of the suffering of our brethren in Jesus Christ. Paris, 25 December 1895. Abbé Julio. *the Union of Magnetizers has been non-existent since the demise of Abbé Julio in 1912. INVOCATION TO JEAN SEMPÉ This invocation was dictated to us in an extraordinary manner, through mediumistic communication, by Higher Spirits in the midst of whom was Jean Sempé himself, delivered from his earthly bonds, but still continuing in our midst, 14 the sublime mission that God entrusted him with; that is the spiritual and physical relief of his human brothers. We are convinced by our own experience, and by those of a good number of our friends, that those who read and say this prayer with faith, will feel its beneficial effects for themselves and their undertakings. It is particularly destined for those men and women who, endeavouring to continue the work of Jean Sempé, undertake the task of healing their fellow human beings, by using the prayers and means in this book. For, we shouldn't forget that Jean Sempé himself never pretended to have obtained for himself alone the privilege of the power of healing; anyone with a pure and upright soul has this power in him or her. And this power CAN andMUST be used within this context to help all those who suffer, and if such a person so wishes, he or she will have prodigious results. The Faith to move mountains does not date from only yesterday, and the performance of miracles has never been the exclusive privilege of any Church whatsoever; it is in the hands of all BELIEVERS. The prayers that we provide here only serve to facilitate their emergence. Try it and you will see for yourself. Blessed Jean Sempé , humble servant of Jesus, we thank you for your goodness. We acknowledge you as our Spiritual Leader, and request that you continue to enlighten us and protect us in this arid task that we accepted from you; which is to continue the work that you entrusted to us. We beseech you to Pray to Jesus, in order that these MIRACULOUS PRAYERS which you transmitted to us may have the same power in our hands as they did in yours, for the greater glory of God, and for the physical relief and moral salvation of our patients. We beseech you to Pray to the almighty God for Him to provide us with the Light of the Holy Spirit, so that we multiply in numbers and become a multitude, so as to repel the dark spirits into the deepest abysses. We beseech you to Pray to the almighty God, for Him to provide us with the Light of the Holy Spirit so that the luminous fluids of the good Angels will always stand between us and our enemies. May it be so! 15 MOST POWERFUL INVOCATION BEFORE UNDERTAKING ANY HEALING You must recite this prayer before undertaking any healing whatsoever. Then Jesus, while passing, went to their midst, and nobody was able to put their murderous hand on him, because his hour was not yet come. - Then Jesus, knowing 28 the things which would happen to him, went forward and said to them: "Who do you seek?" They answered: "Jesus of Nazareth". Then Judas, who was to betray him, was with them. As soon as he said that it was him, they all fell to the ground. Then Jesus asked them again: "Who do you seek?" They answered again: "Jesus of Nazareth ". Jesus answered them: "I have already told you that I am he; if therefore, I am the one you seek, let these other ones go away" (in speaking of his disciples). The spear, the nails, the thorns, the death on the cross that I have suffered prove that I have atoned for the sins of the poor. PSALMS AND THEIR USEFULNESS: WHICH, AND WHEN TO INVOKE AND FOR WHAT: 29 THE SEVEN PSALMS OF REPENTANCE, REGRET, PENITENCE THE SEVEN PSALMS OF REPENTANCE, REGRET, PENITENCE Psalm 6 (When going to Trial, facing a Tribunal, or have a case in court) 6 O LORD , rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. 2 Have mercy upon me, O LORD ; for I am weak: O LORD , heal me; for my bones are vexed. 3 My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD , how long? 4 Return, O LORD , deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies' sake. 5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks? 6 I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears. 7 Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxes old because of all mine enemies. 8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping. 9 The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.10 Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly. Psalm 32 (For secrets to be kept) 32 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputes not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. 3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. 4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. 5 I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will 30 confess my transgressions unto the LORD ; and thou forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah. 6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou may be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. 7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shall preserve me from trouble; thou shall compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. 8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shall go: I will guide thee with mine eye. 9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee. 10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusts in the LORD , mercy shall compass him about. 11 Be glad in the LORD , and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart. Psalm 38 (When in torment, badly fallen ) 38 O Lord, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. 2 For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presses me sore. 3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin. 4 For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me. 5 My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness. 6 I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long. 7 For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh. 8 I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart. 9 Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee. 10 My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me. 11 My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off. 12 They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long. 13 But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that opens not his mouth. 14 Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs. 15 For in thee, O LORD , do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God. 16 For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slips, they magnify themselves against me. 17 For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me. 31 18 For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin. 19 But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied. 20 They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is. 21 Forsake me not, O LORD : O my God, be not far from me. 22 Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation. Psalm 51 (For repentance, temptation forgiveness) 51 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. 4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou might be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. 5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. 6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shall make me to know wisdom. 7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. 9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. 12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. 13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. 14 Deliver me from blood guiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. 15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall show forth thy praise. 16 For thou desireth not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. 18 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem. 19 Then shall thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar. Psalm 102 32 (For the healing of diseases, to conquer pain, suffering or to conceive a child) 102 Hear my prayer, O LORD , and let my cry come unto thee. 2 Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily. 3 For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth. 4 My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread. 5 By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin. 6 I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert. 7 I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top. 8 Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me. 9 For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping. 10 Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down. 11 My days are like a shadow that declines; and I am withered like grass. 12 But thou, O LORD , shall endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations. 13 Thou shall arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come. 14 For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof. 15 So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD , and all the kings of the earth thy glory. 16 When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory. 17 He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer. 18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD . 19 For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth; 20 To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loosen those that are appointed to death; 21 To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem; 22 When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD . 23 He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days. 24 I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations. 25 Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy 33 hands. 26 They shall perish, but thou shall endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shall thou change them, and they shall be changed: 27 But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end. 28 The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seedshall be established before thee. Psalm 130 (For the dead) 130 Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD . 2 Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. 3 If thou, LORD , should mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? 4 But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou may be feared. 5 I wait for the LORD , my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. 6 My soul waits for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning. 7 Let Israel hope in the LORD : for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. 8 And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities. Psalm 143 (For business success, for successful travel, to have a good marriage.) 143 Hear my prayer, O LORD , give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness. 2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified. 3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead. 4 Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate. 5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands. 6 I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsts after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah. 7 Hear me speedily, O LORD : my spirit fails: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit. 34 8 Cause me to hear thy loving kindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. 9 Deliver me, O LORD , from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me. 10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. 11 Quicken me, O LORD , for thy name's sake: for thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble. 12 And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant. OTHER PSALMS FOR SELF PROTECTION, HEALING, AGAINST DESPAIR, REPAIR GRIEF 35 Psalm 6 ( For the healing of eye diseases) 6 O LORD , rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. 9 The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer. 10 Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly. Psalm 12 (For good luck and against loss of fortune) 12 Help, LORD ; for the godly man ceases; for the faithful fail from among the children of men. 2 They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak. 3 The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proud things: 4 Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us? 5 For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, said the LORD ; I will set him in safety from him that puffs at him. 36 6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 Thou shall keep them, O LORD , thou shall preserve them from this generation forever. 8 The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted. Psalm 16 ( For the healing of fever, serious illness, pain elimination) 16 Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust. 2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD , Thou art my Lord: my goodness extends not to thee; 3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight. 4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips. 5 The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintain my lot. 6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. 7 I will bless the LORD , who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. 8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also shall rest in hope. 10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer your Holy One to see corruption. 11 Thou will show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 17 ( For the healing of fever, serious illness and pain elimination) 17 Hear the right, O LORD , attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goes not out of feigned lips. 2 Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thy eyes behold the things that are equal. 3 Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shall find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress. 37 4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer. 5 Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not. 6 I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech. 7 Show thy marvellous loving kindness, O thou that saves by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them. 8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings, 9 From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about. 10 They are enclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly. 11 They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth; 12 Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places. 13 Arise, O LORD , disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword: 14 From men which are thy hand, O LORD , from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hidden treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes. 15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness. Psalm 19 (Prayer of thankfulness after healing from a serious disease) 19 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows his handiwork. 2 Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night shows knowledge. 3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. 4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, 5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices as a strong man to run a race. 6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, 38 making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the LORDis clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. 12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. 13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD , my strength, and my redeemer. Psalm 22 (Prayer against despair, or when in grief) 22 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? 2 O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent. 3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabits the praises of Israel. 4 Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. 5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded. 6 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. 7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, 8 He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him. 9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts. 10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly. 39 11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help. 12 Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round. 13 They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion. 14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. 15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaves to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death. 16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. 17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me. 18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture. 19 But be not thou far from me, O LORD : O my strength, haste thee to help me. 20 Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog. 21 Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns. 22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee. 23 Ye that fear the LORD , praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel. 24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard. 25 My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him. 26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live forever. 27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD : and all the kindred of the nations shall worship before thee. 28 For the kingdom is the LORD 's: and he is the governor among the nations. 29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul. 30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. 31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this. 40 Psalm 26 (Against secret vengeance, persecutions and occult undertakings) 26 Judge me, O LORD ; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD ; therefore I shall not slide. 2 Examine me, O LORD , and prove me; try my reins and my heart. 3 For thy loving kindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth. 4 I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers. 5 I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked. 6 I will wash mine hands in innocence: so will I compass thine altar, O LORD : 7 That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. 8 LORD , I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwells. 9 Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men: 10 In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes. 11 But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me. 12 My foot stands in an even place: in the congregation Psalm 32 (for secrets to be kept) 32 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD ; and thou forgave the iniquity of my sin. 41 Psalm 35 (For the healing of fever, serious illness, pain elimination) 35 Plead my cause, O LORD , with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. 2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help. 3 Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation. 4 Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. 5 Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them. 6 Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them. 7 For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have dug for my soul. 8 Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall. 9 And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD : it shall rejoice in his salvation. 10 All my bones shall say, LORD , who is like unto thee, which delivers the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoils him? 11 False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not. 12 They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul. 13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom. 14 I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourns for his mother. 15 But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not: 16 With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth. 17 Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions. 18 I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people. 19 Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause. 20 For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land. 21 Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it. 22 This thou hast seen, O LORD : keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me. 23 Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord. 24 Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me. 25 Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have 42 swallowed him up. 26 Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me. 27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. 28 And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long. Psalm 52 (repentance, temptation, forgiveness, as a defence against any known enemy) 52 Why boast thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endures continually. 2 The tongue devises mischief; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. 3 Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah. 4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue. 5 God shall likewise destroy thee forever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah. 6 The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him: 7 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness. 8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever. 9 I will praise thee forever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints. Psalm 68 (To protect widows, orphans, or those in captivity) 68 Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him. 2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. 3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice. 4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rides upon the heavens by his name JAH , and rejoice before him. 5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. 6 God sets the solitary in families: he brings out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. 7 O God, when thou went forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah: 43 8 The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel. 9 Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary. 10 Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor. 11 The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it. 12 Kings of armies did flee apace: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil. 13 Though ye have lien among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold. 14 When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it was white as snow in Salmon. 15 The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan. 16 Why leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God desires to dwell in; yea, the LORD will dwell in it for ever. 17 The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place. 18 Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them. 19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. 20 He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death. 21 But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses. 22 The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring my people again from the depths of the sea: 23 That thy foot may be dipped in the blood of thine enemies, and the tongue of thy dogs in the same. 24 They have seen thy goings, O God; even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary. 25 The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels. 26 Bless ye God in the congregations, even the Lord, from the fountain of Israel. 27 There is little Benjamin with their ruler, the princes of Judah and their council, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali. 28 Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us. 44 29 Because of thy temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee. 30 Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, till every one submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter thou the people that delight in war. 31 Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God. 32 Sing unto God, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the Lord; Selah: 33 To him that rides upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, he doth send out his voice, and that a mighty voice. 34 Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds. 35 O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel is he that gives strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God. Psalm 91 (protection against bad dreams insomnia, nightmares, and attacks by evil spirits) 91 He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD , He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shall thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shall not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flies by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shall thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because thou hast made the LORD , which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. 13 Thou shall tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shall thou trample under feet. 14 Becausehe hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation. 45 Psalm 117 (To thank God for his grace, blessings received) 117 O praise the LORD , all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. 2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endures for ever. Praise ye the LORD . Psalm 124 (For the healing of all blood diseases and blood borne diseases) 124 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say; 2 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us: 3 Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: 4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul: 5 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul. 6 Blessed be the LORD , who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. 7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. 8 Our help is in the name of the LORD , who made heaven and earth. Psalm 130 (for the revelation of hidden issues, prayer for the dead) 130 Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD . Psalm 140 (As a defence against any known enemy) 140 Deliver me, O LORD , from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man; 2 Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war. 3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. 46 Selah. 4 Keep me, O LORD , from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings. 5 The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah. 6 I said unto the LORD , Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD . 7 O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.. 8 Grant not, O LORD , the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah. 9 As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them. 10 Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again. 11 Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him. 12 I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor. 13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence. May it be so! PRAYER TO HEAL DISEASES OF THE EYE This is the original form of a very ancient prayer, which provided very good results to our fathers when the pronounced it. Sir Saint John, passing hereby Found three virgins on his way Then he said to them: "What are you doing here?" -"We are healing the leucoma To make the evil go away-" "O virgins Heal with ardour The eye of (say the name of the sick person) and all of his pain". (Thereafter do the sign of the cross and blow air onto the affected sick eye and say:) Leucoma, deceased agents of destruction, dead agents, whatever you may be, headache or migraine, I order you to have no more power and nothing whatsoever over this eye; no more power just like the wicked ones had no power whatsoever on the body of our Lord Jesus Christ on the day of Easter. (Then do the sign of the cross again and blow air again on the eye of the sick person. Then ask him/her to say both Lord's Prayer and the Ave Maria 3 times), and finish by saying: 49 In the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy spirit. PRAYER TO HEAL ALL WOUNDS (This prayer also comes from ancient times and bears the faith of our fathers. We provide them here the way they were, with the hope that humble souls, who recite them with confidence will have the same results as our Fathers had in the past.) In the name of the Father, and of the son, and of the Holy Spirit. May it be so! Madam Saint Anne, who gave birth to the Virgin Mary, and who in turn gave birth to Jesus Christ, we call upon thee. May God bless and heal (say the name of the afflicted person), poor wounded creature, and that in the name of Jesus, all sorts of wounds, tears and ruptures be healed, and all obstacles be removed, whatever they may be, for the honour of God, the Virgin Mary, Saint Come and Saint Damien. May it be so! (Then say the Lord's Prayer and Ave Maria 3 times ). PRAYER TO HEAL BURNS (For the healing of all sorts of burns. Blow air 3 differenttimes in the form of the cross on the wound and say the following prayer). Oh, Great Saint Laurent Who, although was roasted on a fire of burning coals And though turned and re-turned Did not suffer Do me the grace Make this fever dissipate and go away. Fire of God, lose your heat Like Judas lost his colour When he betrayed Jesus in the Garden of Olives during Easter. (Then, say the Lord's prayer 5 x and Ave Maria 5x.) 50 PRAYER TO VANQUISH SEVERE NERVE PAIN, NERVE RELATED PAINS AND TOOTHACHES :PRAYER TO ST. APOLLINE . Saint Apolline Beautiful and Divine Was seated at the foot of a tree On a white marble stone Jesus, our Saviour While passing by, full of happiness Said to him: "Apolline, what ails you?" --- "I am here, Divine master For pain, and not for sadness I'm here for my blood, my Master And for my toothache." --- Jesus replied: "Apolline, Upon your Faith, and On my word, Oh pain, disappear! If it is a drop of blood, may it Dry! And If it is a worm, may it die immediately" (Then, say the Lord's Prayer and Ave Maria 5 times in honour of the 5 wounds of the Saviour). PRAYER TO HEAL ALL ILLNESSES Lord, the one that you love is ill. I dare to ask you that his illness not lead to his death, but that it may serve to your glory and holiness. I believe that you are the Christ, the son of the Living God who came into this world. I believe that you are the resurrection and the Life, and that he who believes in you will live, even though he be dead, and that those who live and believe in you, shall have eternal life. I believe, Lord, help and sustain my little faith. You healed many diseases during your mortal life on earth, through prayer and through the faith and consideration of those who brought them to you. I am not worthy to appear before you and I don't merit that you pay any attention to my prayer. I know that the bread for children must not be thrown to dogs, although the small dogs also eat of the bread that falls from the table of their masters. If you so wish, you can heal. Say one word and he will be healed. Let the healing of his bodily illness heal his soul and also serve as a lesson for us. To him, do give patience. And to us charity. Graciously hear him on this day of his affliction, and save him, so that you may provide us with the joy to praise you again 51 here on earth, with him in your holy temple, and to bless your name forever in heaven. May it be so! My Father, let this cup go away from me, however may your wish be done and not mine. Lord, do not chastise me in your fury and do not rebuke me in your anger. Have mercy on me, because I'm weak. Heal me, because my bones are troubled. For it is neither the doctors, nor the medicines that are given which heal, but only your powerful word. Oh Lord, heal me and I will be saved. Lord, I suffer from violent pains. Please, answer my prayer favourably. I project my life history before your eyes with bitterness in my heart. I am afraid to die because I am not prepared. Remember me Lord, do not revenge my sins, and do not remember my faults. My God, I throw myself unto your mercy; make use of my whole self for my sake. Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me, and come to me before I die. Help me, Great Lord, for I am lost without you, but if I should die, please lead me to heaven. The Abbé Julio Prayer ... TO OBTAIN ALL LAWFUL REQUESTS - THE 30 DAY PRAYER TO OBTAIN ANY LAWFUL REQUEST - THE 30 DAY PRAYER Whoever says this prayer for 30 days in honour of the Most Holy Passion of Jesus Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary, his Mother, will gracefully obtain all lawful requests... we have seen this often. Saint Mary, Eternal Virgin of Virgins, Mother of Mercy, Mother of Grace, 52 Hope for the hopeless; By the agony that went through your soul when your only Son Jesus Christ, Our Lord, endured the ordeal of death on the Cross; By this filial affection which made him sympathize with your maternal grief, and made him carefully entrust you to his well-beloved disciple Saint John, heir to the very perfect love that he had for you, I beseech you first of all, to have compassion on me, but above all to save me from the affliction, anguish, infirmity, poverty and all the other hardships in which I find myself. Oh Safe Haven of the poor! Oh sweet consolation of the afflicted! Most Pitiful Mother of Mercy! Consolation for the desolate! Prompt Liberator of Orphans from all their necessities! Bear witness to the tears of my loneliness and my misery, as a result of my sins, and for which reason I find myself filled with pain and anguish. I have nobody to turn to except you, my Dear Lady, very sweet Virgin Mary, Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, with whom you share an identical character of mercy for humanity. I beg you to lend a sympathetic and merciful ear to my prayers; By the bosom of your very sweet and merciful Son, By the sweetness he felt during his alliance with human nature, which decision to become human and mortal flesh for our salvation, was taken in conjunction with the Father and the Holy Spirit. After which, Oh blessed Virgin, the Angel brought you the news. The Holy spirit shielded you; and your Son became mortal and lived for nine months in your virginal breast as True God and True Man. And when the time lapsed, with the cooperation of the Holy Spirit, he consented to visit the world. By the anguish that your own Son felt in his heart, when he prayed to his Eternal Father on the Mount of Olives that if his Father wished to do so, he be delivered from the Cup of the Passion; By this triple prayer, just like your sorrowful steps afterwards, weeping without abandoning him when faced with his death; By the shame, outrage, sputum, blows, mockery, false witnessing and unjust judgement given against Him, By the loose raiment won through lot casting, By the cords and the whiplashes, By the tears that he shed, three times, By the drops of sweat of blood, By his patience and his silence, By his fears, his boredom and the sadness of his heart, By the shame he felt on seeing himself naked on the cross before the whole world and you, Oh pitiful Virgin, By his Royal Chief, By his divine blood, By his broken ribs, By his crown of thorns, By his thirst, By the bitterness in his mouth when he tasted the sponge soaked vinegar and gall, By the spear which pierced his sacred side, By the blood and the water which flowed from his wounds, and which became for us living sources of Grace and Mercy. 53 By the nails through his feet and hands, By the recommendation he made of his dear soul to his Father, By his Sweet Spirit which he rendered after crying in a loud voice" My God, My God why has thou forsaken me" and lowering his head, he said: "it is finished" By the renting of the veil of the temple and the breaking of the rocks, By the eclipse of the sun and the moon, By the mercy he showed towards the good Thief, By the passion of his cross, By his descent into Hell, By the joy he communicated on his visits to all the faithful souls, By the honour and the glory of his triumphant Resurrection, By the appearances he made within the space of forty days to you, Oh Saint Virgin, to the apostles, and to other believers, By his Ascension into heaven, where in the presence of all his apostles, he was lifted up into heaven By the grace of the Consolatory Holy Spirit, with which he filled his disciples' hearts in the form of tongues of fire, and which they, in turn, carried to the corners of the earth, By the terrible Day of Judgement when he must come to judge the Living, the Dead and the whole world by fire, By the Compassion that you both had for this world, By the sweetness of his kisses, By the ineffable joy of your Assumption, the day when in the presence of your Son, you were taken up into Heaven, whereyou are currently filled with joy and eternal delights, I pray to you to make my heart an active participant, and now please listen to my prayer, and accept the request that I make with all the humility and devotion, that I have: (ask for what you want here) And as I know very well that your Son glorifies you, and that he cannot refuse you anything, Oh my dear Mother, please make me easily and promptly feel your assistance coming from your very merciful heart, and with the will of your very sweet Son, towards ending this hardship in which I find myself and mainly for which reason I call on Your Holy Name and the virtue of his salvation. For he fulfils the prayers and heart's desires of those who fear and adore him, depending on what they feel in their hearts. Please provide me with a firm assurance of hope, that perfect charity in the Catholic faith. Let me have a true contrition of heart, great contempt for the world, sincere love of my God and my neighbour. Let my confession be sincere and perfect, my satisfaction dignified and sufficient. Let me be a source of holy tears, and diligently watch over me in the future. And Death, even if it must be endured, may it be after a fulfilment of my vows, with the perseverance of good will, common sense, fine judgement, an acceptable dialogue, a happy death and true repentance at the end of my life. Finally, eternal life in the company of the souls of my parents, friends, brothers, 54 sisters, and benefactors, both living and deceased. May it be so! The Abbé Julio Prayer ... It can also be said as a novena to guard against all evil in marriage. Word, which was made flesh, nailed to the cross, and seated on the right hand of God the Father, I beseech you in your Holy name, the mention of which name all knees bow down in Heaven, on Earth and in Hell; Hear the prayers of those who believe in you and have faith in you. Please protect this person (....say the name of the person ), your creation from all attacks and evil doings by demons and evil spirits; Through your Holy name, Through the merits of the Virgin Mary, your Mother, Through the prayers of all the Saints, You, who live with God the Father as one with the Holy Spirit. Flee therefore, disappear from here, sworn enemies of man for I command you, infernal demons, whatever you may be, present or absent, and under whatever pretext you have been called, invited or summoned to stay or live here either through your own free will, or by threats, or devises of wicked men or wicked women, I order you again, no matter how opinionated you are, to leave this person ( ... say the name of the person ), By the power of the Great Living God 60 By the power of the True God By the power of the Holy God, By the power of God the Father By the power of God the Son By the power of God the Holy Spirit, Mainly by Him who was slain in Isaac, By the power of the one who was sold in Joseph By the power of He, who in person was crucified By the power of He who was sacrificed like a Lamb By the power of the blood which Saint Michael used to fight against you, conquer you, and made you flee. On behalf of Him, and by His authority, I forbid you, under whatever pretext there may be from doing harm to this person (...say the name of the person), I forbid you from doing any harm to his body, either internally or externally, or to his sight; Neither should you frighten him, nor provoke in him any fear whatsoever of anything, whether at night or day, whether he sleeps, keeps watch, eats or prays naturally or spiritually. If you rebel against my wish, I call upon you all curses and excommunications, and on behalf of the Very Holy Trinity, condemn you to be driven by the Blessed Saint Michael into the lake of fire and sulphur. If you have been summoned by some strong and express command, either by worship with adornments and perfumes, or a spell cast on you with words, plants, stones or even air, whether it was made naturally, or mysteriously, whether it was made spiritually, or otherwise, whether they used sacred things, or the names of the Great God or of his Angels, whether secret characters were used to count minutes, hours, days, months or years, when any such tacit or manifest pact was made, Even with a solemn oath, I break, destroy and cancel all these things, By the power and Virtue of God the Father By the wisdom of the Son, Saviour of all humanity By the Goodness of the Holy Spirit , in one word By Him who fulfilled the Law in its entirety, 61 He who is, who was, and who will always be Ominpotens Agios Ischyros Athanatos Soter Tetragrammaton Jehovah Alpha and Omega ; in a word, that all the infernal powers be put to flight and destroyed by the making of the sign of the cross on which Jesus Christ died, on this person (.. say the Name of the person) and by the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Holy Angels, Archangels, Patriarchs, Prophets, Apostles, Martyrs, Virgins and Confessors, and in general, all the Saints who enjoy the presence of God, as well as the Holy souls who live in the Church of God. Praise God, Most Powerful and Most High, and may these praises resonate up to His Throne like the smoke of the fish of the abyss which was burned by the order of the Archangel Michael; And you must disappear, just like the unclean spirit disappeared before the chaste Sara. May all these blessings chase you away and never allow you ever again, to approach this person (... say the name of the person), who has the honour to have been marked by the sign of the Holy Cross on his forehead; Because the order that I give you now is not from me, but from He who was sent from the bosom of the Eternal Father in order to annihilate and destroy your evil deeds, which act he has fulfilled by suffering and dying on the tree of the Cross. He has given us the power to command you thus for his glory, for the benefit of the faithful. Therefore, by the power that we have received from Our Lord Jesus Christ and in his Name, we forbid you from now on, and forever, from approaching this person ( ...say the name of the person). PRAYER AGAINST MALICIOUS SPIRITS - PRAYER OF ST. CYPRIEN This prayer very powerfully binds and wards off the evil spirit. I (... say your name), servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, I prayed to the Most Powerful Father, and said to him: "You are the only strong God. Oh Most Powerful God, who is in Heaven, dwelling place filled with light. You are the only Holy One, worthy of Praise, and from eternity, you foresaw the sins of your servant and the iniquities into which the powers of the devil immersedme. And I did not know your Holy name. And as I walked in the midst of Lambs, they abandoned me immediately. -The clouds could no longer give rain on earth, which was thus dry and arid. -The trees could no longer bear fruits. -Pregnant women underwent terrible suffering without giving birth. -Sea passages were closed, and it was impossible to reopen them. And I was the cause of all these evils, plus a multitude of others. But, my Lord Jesus Christ and my God, now that I know of your Holy name, which I love, I repent of the multitude of my sins, my iniquities and my crimes with all of my heart, my soul and my power, and I promise to live in your love and submit myself to your Holy commandments, because you are the one and only Verb of the Most Powerful Father." I beseech you now, my God, -To bring back all the sheep and reunite them in the same pasture, -To break the bonds that tie up the clouds so as to allow the fine droplets of sweet rain to fall on Earth, and on your children in order to produce their food, as well as fodder for their animals who live on land and in the waters: - -To return abundant fertility to the whole of nature from the plant to the intellectual being; -To loosen the reins of the rivers and the seas which my faults had bound as well as the rest. Protect me (...say your Name) , from all risks, from all danger, and from all evil for I am blessed to belong to you, being of your creation; I ask and beseech you, Oh my God, By your very Holy Name, to which all things both earthly and spiritual, owe honour and glory, By Emanuel which means: "God is with us", -To say to the waters: "I have sanctified the beds where you flow". Oh you Lord, who in the past delivered the children of Israel from slavery under 63 Pharaoh, I beseech thee, by your servants Moses and Aaron, to stretch out your right hand and lay your holy blessing on me (... say your Name). Bless me like you blessed your Angels, Archangels, Thrones, Dominions, Principalities, Powers, Virtues, Cherubim and Seraphim for You are my God. Please, bless me, (...say your name) your creation, my Lord Jesus Christ. Bless me in such a way that no unclean spirit or demon can harm me. Bless me so that I may not be tainted in any way. And that their bad intentions, their bad deeds, the malignity of their eyes, their poisonous tongues or their persecution may not have any effect on me. Chase all evil and evil spirits far away from me. Bless me so that all my enemies, adversaries, wicked men and pernicious women keep away from me, and me, on my part, far away from them. Bless me so that they all flee far away from me, and have no harmful effect or power whatsoever on me. I ask you by the Virtue of the Most High that if anyone wishes to harm me and do whatever evil, however minute, to me, that you save me and put me under your holy protection, me (... say your name) your servant. Oh my God, By the Virtue and Merits of your Holy angels who continuously praise you By all the Patriarchs, your Apostles, By your Male and Female Saints in Paradise I solemnly request that You keep watch over and protect me ( ... say your Name) your servant from the malignity of the eyes of all my enemies and all those capable of harming me. May it be so! I ask you also, my Lord Jesus Christ, in the name of all the Holy prayers which are said in all the churches of Christendom, to free me, and to deliver me from all the evil deeds and wickedness that demons, wicked men and wicked women can do. In the names of Cherubim and Seraphim, I ask that they have no power or reach on me. Oh very sweet Jesus and merciful Jesus, I pray you in all humility, By your Annunciation, By your death and by your tomb, and By your admirable and marvellous Ascension, By the advent of the Holy Spirit on earth, By the beauty of Adam, By the purity of Abel, By the rescue of Noah, By the faith of Abraham, By the obedience of Isaac, By the innocence of Jacob, By the religion of Melchissedec, By the patience of Job, By the holy love of Moses, 64 By the holiness of Aaron, By the victory of Joshua, By the wisdom of Solomon, By the psalms of David, By the tears of Jeremiah, By the power of Samson, By the contrition of Zachariah, By the baptism of our Lord Jesus Christ, By the voice of the Holy Father speaking from his throne on High which we heard down here on Earth saying: "This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him." By this great miracle whereby Jesus fed and satisfied five thousand people in the desert with five fish and two loaves of bread By what he did in the resurrection of Lazarus, By all the other miracles, By the brilliance of the lights, By the holy sermons of the apostles, By the power of Peter, By the science of Paul, By the chastity of John, By the words of the Gospels, By the prayers of all the Saints, By the heights of Heaven, By depths of Hell, By the purity of the Divinity, By all who fear God, I beg you, Lord to break all these bonds and to protect me from the charms of their eyes, me (..say your Name), who am the servant of God. I beseech thee, Lord, By all these Holy deeds, and By all the virtues for the praise and honour of the great Living God which are written in this book, that these charms have no effect on me me (..say your Name), your servant. May this Great God, who created all things, prevent their magic, sorcery and wicked deeds from having any effect on gold, silver, brass, or currency if they have already done so; Or iron or any object that is worked on, chiselled or raw, Or on silk, wool, linen, fabrics, or clothing, made of whatever material, Or on any man, woman or animal bone, Or on wood, or any other material, Or on books, written paper, virgin parchment, or whatever they have already put, or made to be put on any of them, Or on whatever stone, water, bread, wine, or any other material, on earth or under the earth, Or in the tomb of whatever giant, be it Jewish, pagan or Christian, 65 Or in, or under the hair, clothing, shoes, fasteners or belts, simply, in Or on anything that can be, meaning in any place, or anything in which any of these wicked deeds are made or can be made, I ask you and humbly pray you by the Virtue of the most Powerful Father and of the Redeemer Son and of the Vivifying Holy spirit to destroy them and render them useless, so that they have absolutely no power on me, (say your Name) who am your servant. FOR SELF PROTECTION, SELF DEFENCE AND PROTECTION AGAINST ALL ENEMIES AGAINST UNKNOWN DANGERS, UNPREDICTABLE MISFORTUNE - THE GOSPEL OF ST. JOHN (During the novena of prayers, in order to seek protection against any unpredictable misfortune, this should also be recited every morning on waking up.) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[ it. 6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to 66 testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. 9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a man’s will, but born of God. 14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. PRAYER FOR PROTECTION AGAINST A KNOWN ENEMY Archangel Michael, keeper of Paradise, come save the people of God. Protect us from, the devil, and from our enemies who happen to be very powerful. Lead us in to the presence of God, and to the dwelling place of the blessed. Lord, my God, I will sing your praises in the presence of your angels. I will render my humble respects in your holy temple and I will publicly proclaim the greatness of your name. May Jesus, our Lord, be blessed now and always. Since he is our Saviour, he will lead us happily to the path that he has chosen. Jesus, may darkness blind my enemies, so that they may be deprived of the use of their sight and as a mark of their indignity, may their bodies be bent towards the earth. Jesus, show them your indignation. May your just anger continuously warn them. And with just the idea of your might, may horror and terror destroy their courage. Jesus, make them immobile like rocks, until I (say your name) .. who is your creation, that you have redeemed with your precious blood have passed away from them. Jesus, the strength of your hand is always marvellously evident, and by this same force, may you destroy all powerful enemies, by casting down their ungodly pride which is raised against me. Jesus, protect me from those who rise up against me from all sides with the intention of destroying me. Jesus save me from the hand of the wicked and keep me away from the clutches of this unfair person who aims to spill my blood and seeks my life, my honour and my 67 property. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, from the beginning, today and forever and ever. May it be so! PRAYER FOR SELF PROTECTION: BY VIRTUE OF WHICH NOBODY CAN HARM YOU This prayer is from a very old book, and according to Jean Sempe, it has proved its worth many times. And this is why we bring it to you without any hesitation whatsoever. It is written in the book that: "whoever will carry the following prayer on him or her, must fear nothing; no arrows, no spears, or weapons can harm him. And neither can any person or magician. Even the devil cannot harm him provided that he has not signed a pact with him. Whoever writes this prayer down, and hangs it around his neck, will be completely protected and nothing will be able to harm him. If there is anyone who does not believe, let him try it and he will see miracles." Abbé Julio prayers... THE GREAT UNIVERSAL PRAYER FOR SELF FORTIFICATION, BLESSINGS AND SPIRITUALITY 81 THE GREAT UNIVERSAL PRAYER FOR SELF FORTIFICATION, BLESSINGS AND SPIRITUALITY Spiritual fluids of Christ: Come to me! Come to us! Spiritual fluids of all my brothers: Unite with mine and those of Jesus Christ, and let's all concentrate on him. Spiritual fluids of all living and dead men, both physical and disembodied: Let us fuse together in harmonious communion of souls with Christ as the organic centre. Sacred aromas, Vital Spirits of the Adorable Blood of Jesus Christ: Enter into the circulatory channels of every member of Humanity, so that humanity may become the social Body of Christ as early as possible. Divine Ferments, whose dwelling place is in the heart of Jesus Christ: Regenerate us! Enliven us! Sanctify us all! Absolute, pure essences, which by incarnation of the Verb, have been injected into the fallen nature of mankind, and have therefore taken possession of man in order to reintegrate him into his primordial condition of holiness: Re-kindle in us the heavenly spark! Resuscitate in our hearts the divine principle which lies, amortized and paralyzed in our flesh and blood, and let it grow in magnitude to attain fullness in Christ, thus creating in us, the new person to replace the old one. Help each of our personal Verbs to identify itself with the Divine Verb. Inhabitants of heavenly Carmel: Come to the aid of our unfortunate brothers, who were separated from you in the beginning, and have come to fall down at the material pole of creation, having fallen from the Spiritual Pole where you alone remain in a glorious state. Help us with your suggestions and your inspirations to understand the forgiving nature of the Redemption, and help us adapt with love in order to hasten the full accomplishment. Powers of the cosmogony, Intellectual and living forces of Nature, Spiritual willingness, Dynamic Rectrices of spheres, that we call the Law of the Universe, Superior Spirits, which rule the world, and direct human affairs, Blessed Archangel Michael, Glorious Genius, who presides over the destinies of our land, and you all, Protectors of our World, Saint Genevieve, Saint Catherine, Saint Marguerite, Joan of Arc, Saint Louis, Patrons of all the dioceses and parishes of Christendom, Guardian Angels of all mankind: Help us survive the acute crisis that we experience at this moment and which is about to end. Eternal Principle of Life, Creator of Heaven and Earth, Father-Mother of all beings, large and small, visible and invisible, we worship you in Jesus Christ, by Jesus Christ and with Jesus Christ. We beg you to help us immediately reap the benefits and the fruits of the Universal Redemption. Oh my God! It has already been accomplished since you loved the world so much as to even give to it your only Son. It is already accomplished since Christ took upon himself all our sins in order to atone for them with his blood in order to reconcile us with you. Good Father, who is just and merciful: Let us therefore profit from its benefits, for you know well, that we cannot get it by ourselves. 82 "The harvest is ready", like the Messiah said, "it is abundant". What is lacking are the workers, who will do the harvesting. Oh Lord, you who are Master of this harvest, send as fast as possible, your new apostles, your new evangelists and your new missionaries who are the harvesters. Come through them immediately. Rekindle your powers, your mercies and your charity. Without you, we cannot do anything. In you alone can be found Salvation, the Resurrection and the Life. All perfect gifts come from you: Every force, Every Efficiency, Every Grace, Every Light. Let the era of the great pardons and the great forgiveness be opened to us on Earth. Inaugurate the Universal Jubilee out of which came all the former Jubilees and the New Law, which were only preludes and prophetic announcements. Proclaim the Amnesty, with Justice, Peace and Happiness for us all. Oh you, who, while saving us, did save us freely: Save us again! Source of piety: Save us! No one can fight for us except you, our Lord, our God. We beseech you, Lord, to look kindly upon this family, which is yours, and for whose sake, our Lord Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with you forever and ever, underwent the torture of the Cross and gave himself up to the ungodly. May it be so! May it be so! May it be so! BIBLIOGRAPHY 1. Abbé Julio (1907) : Grands Secrets Merveilleux pour aider à la guérison de toutes les maladies physiques et morales, Paris. France. 2.
